Obituary: John T Lewis Sr Johnny entered Heavens gates on 2, 2015; he was born in Neshoba Mississippi on 1, 1930 to the late Frank Lewis and Denotrice Russell Lewis. John was married to Leodies Jones on 16, 1951 this union brought forth twelve children. He was a member at Smith Temple Church of God and Christ under the late Elder William Smith. He was the oldest of ten. He attended high school in Neshoba , Mississippi, at Basin where he completed through the ninth grade. He had to leave school to help maintain the family farm, since then John had always been a hard working family man. He was employed through Local #120 Laborers/ Hod Carries Union for over 30 years working through various companies as Deboy Construction, and F.A Wilhem Construction. He retired in the early 1980s due to his blindness. He enjoyed fishing, watching basketball games, and spending time with his family. John was a loving father, brother, and grandfather and will be sadly missed. John T Lewis Sr. Johnny departed this life on 2, 2015 at the age of 84 years 2 months and 30 days. He was preceded in death by his wife Leodies Lewis, son James E. Lewis and daughter Etta J. Nesbitt. Those left to carry on his legacy and cherish memories include daughters Mary Craig (Raymond), Bynita Grimble, Sharon Prather (Darryl), Alicia Clemmons, and Venesa Daniels (Stanley) ; five sons Otha Neal, John Jr., Otis Frank, Jessie Lee, and Michael Jerome Lewis, his beloved sister Annie Lee Hines; 35 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren ; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
