Obituary: Marengo-Catharine Katie Loomis, 99, of Marengo died , 22, 2010, at her home. She was born 23, 1911, in Stillman Valley to Louis and Susie (Hurd) Carmichael. On 26, 1941, she married Bartlett Loomis, he died in 1988. She graduated from Stillman Valley High School and Illinois State in Normal. Katie taught school in Marengo for many years. She was a member of Marengo United Methodist Church. She was an accomplished piano and organ player. She played piano in a jazz band in college and the organ at weddings and funerals in Marengo. She loved to play bridge and belonged to several bridge clubs. She is survived by her children, Linda Lockinger of Belvidere and Nancy (Ted) Kane of Colfax, WI; her grandchildren, Tami Cauffman of Rolling Prairie, IN, Mark (Toni) Osterberg of Green Bay, WI, Matt and Marty (Laura) Osterberg of Colfax, WI, Michele (Eric) Schlag of Kewaunee, WI, and Christina Savage of Belvidere; her great-grandchildren, Mark Jr. and Kayla Osterberg of Green Bay, WI; Matt Jr. and Samantha Osterberg of Eau Claire, WI, Jeremy Cauffman of Fremont, CA, Jeff Cauffman of Laporte, IN, Katelyn and Emily Savage of Belvidere, and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; son, Richard; sister, Beatrice Carmichael; brother, Ronald Carmichael; grandson, Michael Osterberg; and sons-in-law, Steven Lockinger and Larry Osterberg. Katie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Special thanks to her caregiver, Cindy, and OSF Hospice. On 31, 1985 she married Robert Anthony Loomer in San Antonio, Texas. Patty worked for many years as an Activity Coordinator for Long Term in McHenry . She loved working with the elderly and was amazing at her job. Patty lived her life as a free spirit. She was a wonderful mother to her son Ryan and a second mother to several children she took into her home. Patty was a kind hearted and giving person and believed in unconditional love . She loved music and was a wonderful singer and guitarist. She loved all animals, rescued and cared for them, never turning any away. She volunteered for the Assisi Foundation for several years. She will be be missed very much. She is survived by her husband Tony Loomer; son Ryan (Danielle) Loomer; grandsons: Russell & Jacob Loomer; father Paul (Arline) MacKenzie; mother Ruby Weis; sisters: Kathy (Tom) Kus, Peggy (Mark Parr) Fortune, Sandra MacKenzie, Darlene (Adam) Kloth; brother Don (Heidi) Weis; brother in law Phillip Loomer; nieces and nephews: Steven, Nathaniel , Emma , Jackson & Annika. Obituary: PEKIN ~ Sally Anne Look, 61, of Pekin, passed away at 3:43 p.m. , 9, 2015 at her residence. She was born 7, 1953 in Newport, RI to Robert Lewis and Marian E. (Squier) Reid. Surviving are her mother, Marian E. Reid of Pekin; one daughter, Charissa A. (Scott) Becker of Manito; one son, Clinton A. (Kathy) Look of Marquette Heights; three grandchildren, Taylor Becker, Dylan Becker and Conner Look; one brother, John B. (Diane) Reid of Edelstein and one niece, Kaitlynn Reid. She also leaves many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father. Sally was a 1971 graduate of Pekin Community High School and a 1972 graduate of Stephens Academy. A licensed cosmetologist, she had worked as an Elizabeth Arden cosmetologist at Bergner’s in Pekin and as a hairstylist at Lake Manor. She was a member of St. John’s (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley, where she also volunteered with the food pantry. She studied martial arts with Jim Price School of Karate. Sally also had a gift for interior design. Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. , 13, 2015 at St. John’s (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley. The Rev. Kevin Bueltmann and Rev. Chris Sansom will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at Preston-Hanley s & Crematory in Pekin, and also from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Lakeside in Pekin. Obituary: GREEN VALLEY ~ Richard D. "Dick" Look, 80, of Green Valley, passed away at 1:20 p.m. , 3, 2015 at his home. Born May 25, 1935 in Pekin to Frank and Dora (Deneen) Look, he married Sally V. Brush on 12, 1969 in Creve Coeur. She survives. He is the amazing Dad (Pa) of, Debbie (Lyle) Benefield of Pekin, Brenda (Tim) Bale of Mason City, Bill (Kim) Janssen of Marquette Heights, Alisa (Doug) Reinhart of Pekin, Rashelle Cupi of Green Valley, and Leigh Look; fourteen grandkids; and nine great-grandkids. Also surviving is one brother, Elwood (Helen) Look of Tremont. He was preceded in death by his parents; oldest daughter, Valerie Rakestraw, one brother; and three sisters. Dick was a highly respected, self-employed John Deere backhoe operator. He worked for R.A. Cullinan & Sons, retiring in 2002. He also plowed snow for many years for Cincinnati Township, several area businesses and residents, and wherever assistance was needed. He was a longtime member of the Pekin Moose Family #916. Dick devoted his hard-working life to his wife and kids. In 1977, he created "Look Acres", a beautiful home filled with love, laughter, and endless memories for his family, from what was once a gravel pit. To his wife, he was her best friend, companion, and the love of her life as they journeyed through life hand in hand. She cared for him daily, including the last few years when he needed her most. To his kids, he was their hero, a strong yet gentle, brave, patient, and loving man who was absolutely priceless. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix or create. He had a way with words, and when spoken, were golden. To his grandkids, he filled their lives with adventures and cherished memories to last a lifetime. To many, he was a loyal, generous, and helpful friend who would lend a hand when in need. His legacy will live on through his family and his love will forever overflow in their hearts. His two youngest daughters, Alisa and Rashelle were his daily caretakers for the last 3 years. His funeral will be at noon , 8, 2015 at Preston-Hanley s & Crematory in Pekin. Born 31, 1939 in Peoria to Lincoln Bonnie and Dorothea (Jones) Look, he married Patricia E. Lucas on 19, 1986 in Kingston Mines. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Bonnie (Jim) Reeves of Sulligent, AL; two sons, Robert Look of Fairmont, WV and Roger (Tiffany) Look of Mapleton; twelve grandchildren, Aaron (Chelsea) Reeves, Holley Reeves, James Look, Steven Look, Jordan Look, Olivia Look, Grace Look, Raegan Look. Rachel (Zach) Retzer, Alex Look, Brandon Look and Sara Look and three great-grandchildren, Piper Reeves, Parker Reeves and Owen Retzer. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eva Trimmer. Link had served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Hyster Corporation in Peoria and Sulligent, AL for 20 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1979. He then worked for Proctor Hospital in Peoria for 22 years, retiring in 2003 as maintenance supervisor. He also worked at Guardsmark Security as a corporate security driver for Caterpillar. He enjoyed shooting pool, shooting trap and travelling. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling and riding motorcycles. Spending time with his family was also very important to him.
