Obituary: Julia Mireles Leyvas was born on 5, 1922, in Miami, AZ to Guadalupe and Luisa Mireles. She was the youngest of thirteen children. She married our Dad Claude M. Leyvas and had five of us children Cheryle, Claude, Pamela, Julie and Mark, Seven Grand Children and Eight Great Grand Children. She was Mom, Judy, Grandma, Fefa, Nani, and Nana to all of us. She loved having her family over on 's for dinner, we had great food and lots of fun and laughter. Mom loved to dance, Jitterbugger in her younger days and lots of Cumbia's. Music, she enjoyed "Big Band Area", Tony Bennett. Frank Sinatra, Louie Armstrong, Benny Goodman, Etta James, just to name a few. She was very articulate, gave her opinion, was very out spoken and at times very stubborn. Once in awhile she would like a glass of cold beer with her dinner and would just savior it. She also liked the casino slots once in awhile. Our mother lived a great life and all of us have wonderful memories of that life. Our mother is so dear its hard to contemplate life without her but as she taught us life goes on and she lived a full life. Our mother's influence will always be present in our lives. We all took care of our mother, and during those years we have a lot of great memories, of laughter, crying and praying. One of her favorite sayings was "May the Holy Spirit be with you" and she would bless you. She was Catholic and loved her religion. We love our mother for all that she was. We celebrate her life and all the positive lessons she taught us. While facing a tremendous loss, we know with our faith in God it will bring us peace.
