Obituary: Robert E. Bob Kipfinger, 87, of Punta Gorda, Florida, formerly of South Boston and North Abington, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully , 24, 2014 in Port Charlotte, Florida. Bob was a World War II Navy veteran who served on the USS South Dakota (aka: Battleship X). While serving, he crossed the equator and Arctic earning certificates of Shell Back and Blue Nose. Bob loved boating, always owning boats throughout the years motoring on Boston Harbor and Cape Cod, and when he moved the family to Florida in 1974 he spent many hours on Charlotte Harbor. In addition to boating, he enjoyed vacationing to many places as well as camping in Cape Cod. Bob was an automotive mechanic by trade. He owned several gas stations throughout the years in Massachusetts. retiring to Florida, he re-entered the workforce with Gator Utilities in Fort Myers, finally finishing his career with Charlotte Parks and Recreation. Bob is survived by his wife Catherine (nee – Mendolia) of more than 50 years, and six children, Diane (Jim) Billotte, Debbie (Louis) Medina, Michael Kipfinger, Valerie (Kevin) Moore, Stephen (Celene) Kipfinger, and Frank Kipfinger. He was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will miss grandpa dearly. Obituary: Catherine Kipfinger, 78, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away at home on , 21, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born in 1936 to her late parents, Dominic & Carmela Mendolia in Boston, Massachusetts. She wed Robert Kipfinger, to whom she was married for over 50 years before his death earlier this year. Robert, Catherine, and their children relocated to Punta Gorda in 1975. Catherine worked as a cosmetologist in her own shop in Punta Gorda for many years, followed by a second career at Publix. She retired in 2011 and dedicated her remaing time to enjoying her free time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting and watching cooking shows on television. Shopping trips with family members were also high on her list of favorite things to do. Catherine is survived by her children, Diane, Debbie, Michael, Valerie, Stephen and Frank, along with many grandchildren and great children. I realized when you look at your mother; you are looking at the purest love you will ever know. I love you every day. And now will miss you every day. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, 29, 2014 at Roberson Port Charlotte Chapel. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Catherines life. Obituary: Loretta Maxine Litchfield Kiper, who died 5, 2010, was born in Texas 19, 1919 and relocated to Tallahassee, Florida in 1957. She was active in the local craft societies, was very talented in needle work and retired from the State after having served as Secretary lV, under two Governors and was secretary to one of the insurance commissioners. She also served as an officer in the National Secretaries Association. Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore B Kiper, Sr.; her sister, Marie Russell; her brother, Jim Litchfield; and her son, Jim Kiper.
