Obituary: James J. Kerley passed away peacefully at his home in North Palm Beach on 13, 2015 at the age of 92 with his wife and son by his side. Beloved husband of Ann (Bauer) OLeary and the late Dorothea (Ickler), mother of his four children. He is survived by his four children, Janet Miles, James J. Jr. (Terri) , Doris Moss, Dr. Suzanne Kerley (Dr. Douglas Hetzler) and step-daughter Moira OLeary Bell (William). He is also survived by six grandchildren and four step-grandchildren: Stephen J. Miles (Beth), John M. (Kelly), James J. III (Beth), Eric Moss, Kirsten Smith (Travis), Connor Hetzler; Bridget Bell, Michael (Ashley) Bell, Meghan Bell, Daniel Bell. He is a great grandfather to Taylor Grace, Madeline, Abigail, and the late Thomas J. Miles; Riley and John M. Jr. Kerley, Olivia Smith and Campbell Kerley. Born 20, 1922, he was the son of the late Philip Kerley and Jane Touey. He grew up in New Jersey, graduating from Camden Catholic High School. graduating from Temple University, he served four years in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific and China. He was honorably discharged as 1st Lieutenant. He completed his post graduate degree at University of Pennsylvania. Jim had a long and interesting professional life. He began it by teaching finance courses at Temple University from 1947 to 1951. Temple awarded him Doctor of Laws in 1969. He entered the corporate world when he went to work for the Ford Motor Co. with the (Whiz Kids) in the post war reorganization of the automotive industry from 1951 - 1958. He then joined the Crosley Division of Avco Co. 1958 - 1960 followed by the position of Vice President-Controller of the Dallas based Ling-Tempco-Vought, Inc. from 1960 -1962. He and his family then moved to Greenwich, CT where Jim became Vice President of Finance for Trans World Airlines from 1962 - 1968. A move to become Executive Vice President and Chairman of Finance Committee at Monsanto brought the Kerleys to St. Louis, Mo where he took early retirement in 1981 . He became the vice Chairman and CFO at Emerson Electric shortly thereafter, retiring from Emerson in 1985. He held twelve Directorships during the ensuing years, and in 1993 accepted the Presidency of ROHR Industries, San Diego, where he reorganized the company. Although Jim enjoyed most sports, golf and the St. Louis Cardinals were his passions. He always considered himself fortunate to be a member of Old Warson Country Club in St. Louis, Mo and Lost Tree Country Club in North Palm Beach, FL, joining the latter in 1983 and becoming President in 1991-1992. His family and friends will always remember his lifelong love of learning, winning smile, his warm sense of humor, his infectious laugh, and his love of singing. And these are some of the many reasons he was so loved and will be dearly missed. The entire Kerley Family thanks-from the bottom of their hearts-the people who loved and cared for Jim these last five years. Knowing that Lee Greco, Debora Patunus and Sonia Randell were there with Jim gave peace and comfort to those of us who lived away. Friends may gather to celebrate Jims life at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 7148 Forsyth Blvd, St. Louis, Mo, 63105 on , 22. There will be a visitation at 9:00 AM, followed by Mass at 10:00 AM. Obituary: James J. Kerley died peacefully at his home in North Palm Beach on 13, 2015 with his wife by his side. He was 92. Beloved husband of Ann (Bauer) O'Leary and the late Dorothea (Ickler), mother of his four children. Born Nov. 20, 1922, he was the son of Philip Kerley and Jane Touey; he grew up in New Jersey and Philadelphia, graduating from Camden Catholic H.S. and returning to graduate from Temple Univ. after serving four years in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific and China; he was honorably discharged a 1st Lt. and finished his post-graduate degree at Univ. of Pennsylvania; he was an Instructor finance at Temple Univ. 1947-1951; Temple awarded him a Doctor of Laws in 1969. He first worked at the Ford Motor Co. with the "Whiz Kids" in the postwar reorganization of the auto industry 1951-58. He left to go to the Crosley Division Avco Co 1958-60; then vice president - controller Ling-Tempco-Vought, Inc., Dallas 1960-62; vice president Trans world Airlines 1962-1968; executive vice president and Chairman of Finance Committee at Monsanto Co., taking early retirement in 1981. From there he went to Emerson Electric Co. as Vice Chairman and CFO, retiring in 1985. He held twelve Directorships during the ensuing years and in 1993 accepted the Presidency of Rohr Industries, San Diego, where he reorganized the company; it later was sold to Goodyear. He is survived by his four children, Janet miles, James J. Jr. (Terri), Doris (Vaughan) Moss, Dr. Suzanne Kerley Hetzler (Dr. Douglas Hetzler), and a step-daughter, Moira O'Leary Bell (William). He is also survived by six grandchildren and four step-grandchildren: Stephen J. Miles (Beth), John M. (Kelly), James J. III (Beth), Eric Moss, Kirsten Smith (Travis), and Connor Hetzler; Bridget Bell, Michael (Ashley) Bell, Meghan Bell and Daniel Bell. His great grandchildren number eight: Taylor Grace, Thomas J., Madeline, and Abigail Miles; Riley and John M. Jr. Kerley, Olivia Smith and Campbell Kerley. Always interested in sports, and though his football days at Temple U. were cut short by his marine Service, he later played a lot of golf in his spare time at Old Worson Country Club, St. Louis, MO, Glen View Club Golf, IL, and Lost Tree Club, No. Palm Beach, FL, joining the latter in 1983 and becoming President in 1991-92. His family and friends will always remember his winning smile, his warm sense of humor and his infectious laugh. will also cherish the memories of his sharp analytical mind, his phenomenal memory exercised by his lifelong love of learning. But most of all, he will be remembered for his honesty, integrity and being a fine gentleman. The family wishes to extend their appreciation for all the love and care given to Jim during his illness, especially by those who ministered to him. Obituary: Debra "Debbie" Jean (Lawson) Kerkes, 3/29/55-3/25/15 Debra passed away unexpectedly from complications due to a prolonged illness. Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Dr. Michael J. Kerkes and her devoted son, Michael J. Kerkes II of Orlando, FL; parents Peggy and Frank Collins, of Orlando, FL and Jenny Lawson of Eaton, IN; as well as siblings, Linda Thompson of Clermont, FL, Robert Lawson, of Orlando, FL, and Tammy (Mike) Baker of Daleville, IN. A memorial service will be held on 3/31/15 at 3pm at St. Luke's Methodist Church. Debbie was born 3/29/55 in Anderson, IN. Her father, Robert Lawson was a career Navy and Debra travel extensively. She graduated Anderson Senior High School and received her Degree from Indiana University. She and Michael met at Wishard Hospital (Indianapolis). Michael's family practice residency, the couple moved to Orlando, Florida. Michael J. Kerkes II was born May 1989, and Debra embraced her role as mother. She worked intermittently in , but the past several years worked in Donor Advocacy at One Blood, Blood Bank in Orlando, FL. Debra loved dogs, reading, and spending time at the beach, but her greatest joy was visiting family and friends. In addition to above, Debra is survived by her nieces, Summer Thompson (Johnny) Wood of Clermont, FL and Autumn Thompson (Carlos) Solis; great nephews, Blake Daniel Wallace, of Anderson, IN and Gavin Lane Wood, of Clermont, FL; great niece, Savannah Cox; numerous members of her extended family, and innumerable friends.
