Obituary: Lorraine E. Kath, age 85, formerly of Reeseville, Lowell, died , 11, 2008 at the Golden Living in Beaver Dam. Visitation for Lorraine will be at the United Methodist Church in Lowell on , 17, 2008 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM. service will follow at church on , beginning at 2:00 PM. Rev. Gerhardt Miller and Don Entenman will officiate. Burial will be at East Lowell in the Town of Lowell, Dodge , Wisconsin. The former Lorraine Evelyn Kuhlman was born on 14, 1922 in the Town of Lowell at the family farmhouse, Dodge , Wisconsin to the late Levi John and Emma (Kuehl) Kuhlman. She attended Gahlman one room school for 8 years and enjoyed reminiscing about those years with her schoolmate Lucille Nowak of Beaver Dam. She and her sister Bernice helped their parents cook for and manage the old in au. On 21, 1952, she was united in marriage with Carl L. Kath at the United Methodist Parsonage in Lowell. She was a homemaker her entire life and was an excellent cook, often remembering cooking for the many hreshing crews around her dining room table. She and her husband enjoyed card parties and entertaining at their home. One of Lorraine\s most wonderful gifts was her ability to write poetry. Throughout her life she would write poems to commemorate many family occasions and church events; she most recently did so in honor of a 40th Birthday this past . For the past three years, she also wrote a Christmas poem honoring the care center. Lorraine was well-known for her column, Spun Chat\s that ran for over 40 years in both the Beaver Dam Daily Citizen and the Dodge Independent. She also loved sending and receiving letters, greeting cards and post cards. She prided herself on sending birthday cards to friends and family, always with a short note. Before moving to Golden Living , Lorraine always enjoyed her autumn trip to the Amish area near Dalton. Lorraine loved to play cards, read books, play dominoes and complete word puzzles; most of all, she was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan - she never missed a game. She kept current on political events and daily news, always waiting for that daily paper to arrive. The past few years, Lorraine enjoyed the staff and her friends at the Golden Living and especially the Bingo games and the musical activities. She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church in Lowell where she taught School and vacation Bible School for many years; she also played the piano for various church events through the years and sang in the adult choir for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Aid since 1955. She and her husband were very involved in church activities and events and always volunteered to help when needed. Lorraine\s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy and she displayed their many photos in her room. She was an inspiration to many people and always had a smile and a kind word. She will truly be missed. Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen (David) Bock of Hustisford, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jeremy (Melissa) Bock and their children Elise, Amelia and Meredith, all of DePere, and Trisha (Peder) Monis and their children Abigail and Jack, all of Ashippun, a special friend, Donna Neuberger of Reeseville and her roommate Ruth Loew; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including all her friends at the Golden Living . Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, in of 1981, her sister, Bernice Kuhlman in 1964, two brothers, Harvey Kuhlman in 1976,and Alton Kuhlman in 1998, her great grandson, Grant Monis in 2002 and a special friend, Merlin Bleifuss, 2008. The family suggests that memorials be made in Loraine Kath\s name to the United Methodist Church in Lowell or the First United Church of Christ in Reeseville. Obituary: Leona C. Kath, age 90, died on , 22, 2013 at her home in rural Reeseville. The visitation will be at Lowell United Methodist Church on , 2, 2013 from 9:30 AM until 10:50 AM. The former Leona Clara Stark was born on 20, 1922 in the Town of Elba, Dodge , Wisconsin to the late Arthur and Mertie (Schoenwetter) Stark. graduating from Columbus High School in 1940, she worked at Krueger\s Grocery Store in Columbus for a couple of years. On 26, 1942, Leona was united in marriage with Willard A. Kath at the Methodist Church in Columbus; together they farmed the family homestead. Having prepared thousands of meals, Leona was a wonderful cook and baker; she loved to bake pies and was renowned for her excellent angel food cake. She was a longtime member of Lowell United Methodist Church where she taught School for over 50 years and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She also made the chicken salad sandwiches for the ice cream social, a recipe several people asked her for through the years. A few of Leona\s simple pleasures were reading, listening to music, and watching the birds, especially the cardinals. Leona had a talent for the lost art of letter writing and her letters were always appreciated by her friends and relatives. Survivors include her children, Robert Kath and Susan Kath, both of Reeseville; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Stark; her dog, Abbie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willard in 2006; her daughter, Cheryl Kath in 2004; her sister, Elaine (Bernie) Baerwald; her brother, Gilbert Stark; and her sister-in-law, Ruth (Bob) Mathwig. Obituary: Larry L. Kath, age 76, of Appleton, passed away at Grand Horizons Assisted Living in Appleton, Wisconsin, on , 23, 2017. He was born on 25, 1940, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, to the late Herman and Fern (Russ) Kath. Larry married Sandra Gruening on 20, 1963, in Wausau, Wisconsin. An avid sportsman, Larry was a star point guard on his high school basketball team and a standout third baseman. As an adult he enjoyed golf and was a devoted Packers, Brewers and Badgers fan. For the past 20 years, Larry and Sandy have wintered in Arizona. Larrys business career spanned over 25 years at AAL and he retired as Vice President of Corporate Relations. Larry was also a founder of The Community Foundation and served as CEO for over 12 years. Most importantly, Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a man of faith and endeavored to share his faith with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sandy; his twin daughters, Dana (Mike) Besaw, and Deidre (Bill) Parker; his son, Darin (Tia) Kath; his grandchildren, Bryce, Amanda, Austin, Abby, Lauren, Hannah, Zachary, Taylor and Claire; his great granddaughter, Olivia; his sisters, Darlene Nardi and Charlene (William) Loppnow; and his sister-in-law, Sandra Kath-Lanterman. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Merwyn Kath and Allan Kath, and his brother-in-law, Alan Nardi. The Christian for Larry will be at 11:00 a.m. on , 27, 2017, at MOUNT OLIVE EV. Obituary: Simon Sam Katchkey, age 88, of Sheboygan, died morning, 31, 2012 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Simon was born 10, 1924 in Sheboygan to Louis and Mary (Zussman) Katchkey. He attended Washington Elementary School and Sheboygan North High School, graduating in 1942. Simon was one of four brothers to serve in the US military at the same time overseas during WWII. He enlisted in the US Army in 1944 and served until 1946. He was stationed in the European Theatre and received two Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal. It was during that time that Simon met the love of his life, Elly Korber, a citizen of Germany. On 9, 1951 they were united in marriage in Shaafheim, Germany. On 21, 1952 the couple moved to Sheboygan to make their home. Simon, along with his brother, Meyer owned and operated the Evergreen Broom Mfg. Co, Inc. in Sheboygan until its sale 1992. Together, Simon and Elly were very involved in supporting our troops in the USO Kaiserlautern through generous monetary and food donations. Every they would travel to Milwaukee where they stopped at the Sisters of St. Francis and assisted them with donations and continued on to the Zablocki Veterans Medical to help prepare meals for the veterans. Simon served on the board of directors for the Wisconsin USO and received honors from them. On 22, 2012 Elly preceded Simon in death. Simon was a member of the Jewish War Veterans and served as a State Officer for AMVETS. He helped to organize Sheboygans parades forVeterans Day, Fourth of , and Memorial Day, always ensuring a US military presence. He was recently honored by the Department of Veterans Affairs for having volunteered over 25,000 hours and he was also honored with a visit from retired Four Star General, Walter Duke, Jr. who presented him with the book TRIBUTE, A PICTORIAL OF THE NATIONAL WORLD WAR II MEMORIAL, signed by the author, Duane A. Lempke. May 5, 2008 was proclaimed Simon Katchkey Day by Sheboygans Mayor Juan Perez in honoring Simons love, dedication, and support to all Veterans. Simon was an active member of Congregation Beth El in Sheboygan, and B ai B ith Association. Simon is survived by his sisters, Ruth Choy of Sheboygan, Dorothy Josephson of Pewaukee, and Ida Hochstein of New York.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Elly, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Mike, Max, Morris, Milton, Albert, and Meyer; and two sisters, Jessie Stein and Rose Katchkey. services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on , 4, 2012 at Ballhorn Chapels. Obituary: Michael L. Katchkey, age 60, of Sheboygan, died morning, 22, 2014 at Golden Living . He was born 18, 1953 in Sheboygan to Milton and Vera (Carfield) Katchkey. He attended local grade schools and was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, Class of 1972. Michael was a member of Beth El Congregation. For the majority of Michaels life he served as caregiver for his parents. their deaths he worked at K-Mart until its closing, after which he began employment in maintenance at Sheboygan Job through Great Lakes Training and Development. He also worked in maintenance at the Kwik Trip on Taylor Dr. in Sheboygan until suffering a massive heart attack and stroke on Thanksgiving of 2012. Michael is survived by his brother, Jack (fiancée, Becky Howard) Katchkey of Sheboygan; his aunts, Ruth Choy of Sheboygan, Dorothy Josephson of Pewaukee, and Ida Hockstein of New York City; many cousins and friends. Obituary: Elly Katchkey, age 84, of Sheboygan, died evening, 22, 2012. Elly was born May 13, 1927 in Buches, Germany to Heinrich and Frieda (Meiz) Korber. Elly met Simon Katchkey while he was serving his country in the US Army stationed in Germany. On 9, 1951 they were united in marriage in Shaaffhein, Germany. On 21, 1952 they moved to Sheboygan, WI to make their home. Elly worked at Sheboygan Tinsel Co. for a time before before becoming involved in the family business, The Evergreen Broom Mfg. Co, Inc. in Sheboygan. Together they were very involved in supporting our troops in the USO Kaiserlautern through generous monetary and food donations. She served on the Wisconsin USO Board of Directors until 2010, was active in the Milwaukee USO branch, was a member of the AMVETS Auxiliary Post #18 and the VFW Post 9156 Auxiliary. Every Simon and Elly traveled to Milwaukee where they stopped at the Sisters of St. Francis and assisted them with donations and continued on to the Zablocki Veterans Medical to help prepare meals for the veterans. Elly received an award for having volunteered over 25,000 hours at Zablocki. Elly was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. In addition to her husband, Simon, Elly is survived by her sister, Gertrude; her nephew, Stephen; her grandniece, Katja all of Germany; her sisters-in-law, Ruth Choy of Sheboygan, Dorothy Josephson of Pewaukee, and Ida Hochstein of New York; and other relatives and friends.
