Obituary: Shirley A. Killins, 78 was granted her angel wings on May 24, 2014. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. The oldest of 11 children born to Marion Leonard Warren and Mae E. Warren on 14, 1935. Her parents proceeded her in death. She helped her mother raise her younger siblings. She embodied what a matriarch should be. Strong, supportive, encouraging and straight forward in her advise. She graduated from Our Lady of Mercy High School, Cincinnati Ohio in 1953, She immediately joined nursing school and graduated from East Vocational School as a licensed vocational nurse in 1954. She worked in nursing at various hospitals until she retired after more than 50 years of service from San Bernardino hospital. Although she retired from nursing, she never retired from public service. She joined Eta Phi Beta sorority in 1994 and dedicated her life to serving others. She held many offices during her tenure including Historian and Secretary. She was active in fund raising for scholarships. She participated in the design of the Rialto Senior Citizens Club where her name is listed amongst other contributors and hangs on the wall today. She is survived by her husband, Marvel Killins Jr, retired veteran of 30 years from USAF. Married for 54 years, she set an example for her family of the importance of love, faith and devotion. Shirley is survived by her two children, Karen Chambers (Eric) of Murrieta CA, Benjamin L. CoffeyJr. (Cathy) of San Bernardino CA, grandchildren, Jackie Wilson, Murrieta, Lamar Wilson (Shuvonda), Rosamond CA, Scott Wilson, Rancho Cucamonga, Benjamin Marvel Coffey, Bueamont CA, Nicholas Hayden Coffey (Katie) Fontana CA, Cassandra Yvonne Ann Coffey, San Bernardino CA, Brandon J. Chambers, San Diego CA. Her siblings Luella Warren, San Bernardino, Michael H. Warren (Cecelia) Eugene OR, Dolores Warren Smith (Craig), Wintersville OH, Rose Marie Warren Flint, Cincinnati OH, Linda Warren Green, Cincinnati OH, Angela Warren, Apple Valley CA. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews who all love her dearly. Shirley will have a visitation on , 2, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM in the Valley View Chapel at Montecito Mortuary in Colton, California and a funeral service will be held on , 3, 2014 at 10:00 AM at New Hope Baptist Church in San Bernardino, California with interment at Riverside National at 2:15 P.M. |
