Obituary: "Joe" Age 27 Of Springfield, Virginia passed away while wrapped in the embrace of his parents and his sister on , 18, 2015. He was born in Fairfax, Virginia on 4, 1988. Joe graduated from Falls Church High School in 2007. For 27 years, Joe had been battling an extremely rare disease called Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T for short). A-T is a rare genetic disease that attacks children, causing progressive loss of muscle control, immune system problems, and a high rate of cancer. A-T affects a large variety of systems in the body, causing symptoms that affect health and daily living. Please visit http://www.atcp.org/ to learn more about this merciless disease. Joe fearlessly faced his illness with poise, strength of mind, bravery, dignity, grace, courage and a compelling sense of wit. He fought hard and beat many odds. He met some very interesting people along the way, and rallied them to join his cause, leading him to Congress, publications and talk shows. In 2012 Joe wrote a song about his life and Country star Brad Paisley recorded it. As always, all proceeds going to further research to find a treatment or cure for A-T. Joe remained an advocate for the A-T Children's Project to the end. He strived always to make a difference with his life despite the challenges, and he succeeded in spreading the word about this horrible disease. Sadly, it seems as though it is only after society grasps that we have a limited time on earth -- and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up -- that only then do we begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had. Joe Kindregan was a living example bringing to light the truth that the journey is the reward! It is not length of life, but depth of life, that truly matters. Obituary: Colonel Lee Murray Kindley, USAR, retd, passed away peacefully on , May 17, 2015, at the Johnson , Falcons Landing, Potomac Falls, Virginia. Lee was born in Mt. Airy, Maryland, on 28, 1921. A long-time Maryland resident, Lee received his Bachelors Degree in Chemistry from Western Maryland . serving in the Pacific during WWII, then Captain Kindley met his true love, Mary Catherine Mack, in 1946. were married 23, 1947 and made their first home in Baltimore, Maryland. Lees work took him to New Jersey where he earned his Masters degree in chemistry from Stevens Institute of Technology. Lee and Mary later settled in Springfield, Virginia, where they lived for 27 years and raised their children, Catherine and George. While working as a research chemist in private industry and serving in the Army Reserve, Lee attended night school and ultimately earned his PhD in Organic Chemistry from George Washington University in 1970. His work career included research and foreign representation for The Department of the Interior and The Department of Energy. Lees experience and knowledge of desalination of water took him to Saudi Arabia on several occasions. Lees wife, Mary, was instrumental in his success as she faithfully cared for the family and taught typing and business education at Robert E. Lee High School in Fairfax Public Schools. Lee became an avid bicycle rider at the age of 50 and enjoyed participating in long rides with the Washington group Potomac Peddlers. retiring, Lee and Mary moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where they enjoyed the warm weather, outings with friends, and traveling. The couple returned to Northern Virginia in 1999 and settled at Falcons Landing Retirement Community, where they made good friends, continued to travel, and participated in various activities. Lee continued to bicycle on the W.O.& D trail up into his seventies and later joined the walking group at Falcons Landing. He entered the nursing facility, The Johnson , at Falcons Landing due to serious mobility problems. Lee had a wonderful outlook on life despite his health concerns and kept a positive and healthy attitude until his death. Lee was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Murray Kindley, his mother, Edith a Kindley and his wife, Mary Catherine Kindley. He is survived by his loving daughter, Catherine Kindley McKeown (partner Richard), of Knoxville, Tennessee and his loving and devoted son, George Murray Kindley (Edna) of Fairfax, Virginia. He is also survived by grandson, Daniel Lee McKeown (Jennifer) of Morristown, Tennessee, granddaughter, Kristen Kindley Wabuge (George) from Burke, Virginia, and grandson, Kevin Murray Kindley of Norfolk, Virginia. Lee was also the beloved great-grandfather of Simone Wabuge of Burke, Virginia. A memorial service to honor Lee will be held in the chapel at Falcons Landing, 20522 Falcons Landing Circle, Potomac Falls, Virginia , on , 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Interment at Arlington National will take place at a later date.
