Obituary: David Neils Kolby Life is all too short. Even at 75 David Neils Kolby left too soon. He will be sorely missed by his friends and loved ones. His death was sudden and unexpected, but thankfully it was peaceful. Dave was the only son of Andrew (Andy) and Alice Kolby. He was born on 9, 1941 and spent most of his early years growing up in the Sugarhouse area. He was in the first graduating class of Highland High School in 1958, attended the University of Utah, and was a proud member of the Utah National Guard. There were few subjects he hadn studied and perfected, whether it involved home construction, auto repair, or electronics. He often spent his off hours helping others with seemingly impossible tasks. His interests rested with his family, first and foremost. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed watching old television series and cooking gourmet meals on his barbecue and smoke cooker. He was married to Dana Curtis Ryan (divorced) and Marlene Anderson (divorced) both of whom remained his friends until his death. He was a founding member of the Morning Breakfast Club with Fred Ferre (deceased), Cal Johnson (deceased), Ray Grass and other invited guests.
