Obituary: Sosamma (Ammini) Kunju, 65 years old, passed away peacefully on , May 2, 2017 in her home in Richmond, Texas. Ammini was born on May 25, 1951 in Peroor, India to Elachiyama (Kunjamma) and Ipe (Koch) Chandy. Born after two sons, Ammini was the the third of seven children. Being the oldest daughter and a lively child, she was well loved as evidenced by the many happy memories she shared about her childhood. Although raised in the Jacobite church, she accepted Jesus as her personal savior and was water baptized. Thus, marked the beginning of her walk with the Lord. Ammini married her husband, Abraham (Kunju) on 27, 1975. In 1982 Ammini immigrated to the United States to pursue a career in nursing to provide a better life for her young family. Ammini worked for many years as a Registered Nurse, most recently at Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham, Maryland prior to her retirement in 2015. She was well loved by patients and co-workers alike and countlessly shared the love of Christ with those she met. Upon retirement, Ammini and Kunju moved to Richmond, Texas, their first move outside of Maryland. Ammini and Kunju attended the Southwest Church of God in Stafford, Texas. Ammini was a devoted wife and mother. These two roles were connected through her strong belief in Jesus Christ, generosity, love, and dedication. She was a light in the home and was often heard singing songs of praise. Her bright smile and her joyful laughter were noteworthy. Throughout her life, she maintained a joyful demeanor that won the love of many. In 2016, Ammini was diagnosed with cancer. In the midst of a great trial, her faith, kindness, and strength, never wavered. As she battled cancer, her selfless devotion to others was remarkable. Due to her cancer, she was unable to speak, yet she would write notes to hospital staff and family always thanking them, and never failing to ask if her husband, children and even visitors were okay. To the very end, she never lost her hope and faith in Jesus and remained positive, sharing a smile with those who came to see her. We believe this to be the greatest testimony of her life and know that even now lives will be changed by witnessing her life story. When our words fail to capture her character, she is best described by Proverbs 31: 28-29 which reads Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.\ Ammini is survived by her loving husband and companion of 41 years, Abraham, her daughters Krupa, Aksa, Rooha, and Elizabeth, son-in-laws Titus, Abey, and Jeryn, and grandchildren Bethany, Eden, and Ethan. Her absence is an unimaginable loss for her entire family including siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews and extended family in the United States and around the world. However, we take comfort in knowing that our loss is heavens gain. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 - I have fought a good fight I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. |

Obituary: Capturing a Quiet Life George Kundrock was a unique and extraordinary man: a quiet, loving, and caring husband who was dearly loved by his wife, step-children and grandchildren, as well as his neighbors and friends. He adored his three dogs and three cats and spent a lot of time brushing, feeding and caring for them. George was born in Osage, West Virginia on 30th, 1930. He was one of five children born to Margaret and Joseph Kundrock. He had three sisters and a brother. He spent his early years in West Virginia and graduated High School there. He graduated from Linn Technological in St. Louis Missouri with an Associates Degree in Electronics Technology. He worked for Halliburton as a programmer and hardware designer. George served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, first as a recruiting officer, and later over in Okinawa. He loved photography, using his Hasselblad camera to capture sunlight and shadow in nature. He often waited hours for the sun to be in just the right position for the picture. He enjoyed traveling and taking pictures of mountains and woods as he hiked through forests and deserts. He had an eye for capturing the details in nature, and taking the ordinary and making it beautiful. George spent many hours on the computer and was always researching the latest and greatest technological advances. He enjoyed being online with the National Geographic photographers and had a network of people who shared their work with him. He took square and round dance lessons, and belonged to a square dance club where he met his wife to be Holly. married 18th 1997 and he inherited a mother-in-law and two teenage children. He was very involved with the care of his mother-in-law Helen Frees and helping Holly with her care until her death at age 97. His step-children were a interesting addition to his life; he was a good role model for them. George and Holly were a great team. did everything together from food shopping to dancing. Dancing was a particularly enjoyable experience for them, and when asked to join the Spirits of Houston dance group, they were overjoyed. The Spirits performed throughout Texas, went to square dance conventions all over the U.S. and had an international trip dancing every other year. especially enjoyed the trip to Greece where they performed with some Greek dancers and toured Athens before taking the Royal Viking Ship to Egypt, Turkey, and Jerusalem. George led a quiet life at home. He enjoyed walking the dogs and visiting with his neighbors. He was well loved by so many people who appreciated his honesty, sincerity, and his special quiet smile. George was a man of few words, but when he did speak, it was always very worth while to listen. George was basically very healthy right up to this year. He began having joint knee pain in , and had a bone specialist who administered shots and physical therapy. Still in pain, he had surgery on his back in and was feeling better when cancer reared its ugly head. Many procedures, testing, and blood work later, his doctor found a mass in his small intestine. He went into the hospital 8th and had a massive heart attack while being admitted. He survived even that and had two stints put in the main artery to the heart. Later that day an Oncologist came and explained that the cancer had actually started in the liver and spread to his lungs: He spoke of days, possibly weeks. We were numb. George had a restless night and Holly stayed right with him. The hospital staff was wonderful, doing their best to keep him as comfortable as possible. morning, after the doctors left and he had asked Holly if she had eaten breakfast, and taken her pills, he quietly closed his eyes and passed into the next life with the same dignity that he did things here on earth. He was a beloved and cherished husband, step-father, step-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be sorely missed. May we all remember the happy memories of the times of his life and our time with him. He is survived by his wife Holly Kundrock of Houston, TX, step-children Carrie Dennis, husband Blake Dennis, and step-grandchildren Kate, Abby, and Allie Dennis of Helotes, TX and Marc Pendleton of Austin, TX. His Sisters Margaret Markey of Tampa, Florida, Eleanor Steiner of Waynesboro,PA , and Dorthy Kasmann, of St. Louis, MO , along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends will gather at 11:00am on , 17th and celebrate this wonderful man's life at a memorial service to be held in the sanctuary of Terrace United Methodist Church, 1203 Wirt Road in Houston, TX 77055.
