Gene was born in Groom on 28, 1938 to Henry and Sybilla Koetting. He married Peggy Alford Noggler on 17, 1976; she preceded him in death in 1982. Gene married Juanita Bean Phillips on 5, 1987; she preceded him in death in 2004. He was active duty for the National Guard for six months, on reserve duty for two and half years, and in the reserves for 3 years. Gene was a farmer and rancher in the Simms area since 1965; he knew every cow. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry, and woodworking and was a great cook because it was made right! Gene would say You are both a scholar and a gentleman and there are darn few of us left! He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis Noggler; a daughter, Beverly Larson; and two brothers, Marvin Koetting and James Koetting. He is survived by his four daughters, Margaret Noggler Chopel and husband John of San Ramon, CA., Lisa Phillips Albiar and husband Michael of Maple Valley, WA., Theresa Noggler Fangman and husband Gary of Hereford, and Dallas Phillips Paetzold and husband Carl of Amarillo; two sons, John Noggler and wife Jean of Adrian, and Donald Noggler and wife Charla of Brownfield; daughter-in-law, Jeanie Acker Noggler of Hereford; son-in-law Jim Larson of Wichita Falls; a sister, Caroline Longest of Amarillo, three brothers, Leonard Koetting of Groom, Herman Koetting of Panhandle, and John Koetting of Groom and twenty grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. |

Burial will follow at Oakwood in Hamilton. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. , 4. Charlotte was born on 12, 1928, in Florence, Williamson , Texas, the daughter of Robert Winfrey "Daddy Bob" Daniel and Gertrude "Granny" Terry Daniel, the fourth child of eight children. She was married to Louis Charles Koether on 14, 1946, at the Church of Christ, Killeen, Texas, who preceded her in death, 4, 1999. Louis and Charlotte had four children; Charles, Johnny, Scotty & Debbie. Louis's death, she married Randall Hilliard, who survives her. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son Charles Koether; three brothers; Jack Daniel, Bernard "Toby" Daniel, Denver "Runt" Daniel; one sister Elwanda "Mickey" Edwards. In addition to being a loving homemaker and working alongside of Louis, Charlotte was a nurse for more than 30 years. Charlotte began her nursing career by attending nursing school at Hamilton General Hospital in 1963 and graduated as a licensed vocational nurse in 1964. She loved nursing, where she touched and cared for the lives of many. Her greatest joy was her family, baking and cooking for family get-togethers, playing Mexican train, 42, and working on jig saw puzzles with her children and grandchildren. "Mamaw" was even known for going fishing with her little ones and "Papaw". Survivors include sons Johnny Koether & wife, Miriam; Scotty Koether & wife Diana & daughter Debbie Rudolph & husband Don. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren Kris Koether, Kalvin Koether, Kirk Koether, Kimberly Koether King, Trace Koether, Trenton Koether, Travis Koether, Pepper Koether Womack, Linsey Koether Powers, Eric Rudolph, Timothy Rudolph & Jamie Rudolph Hays, twenty six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews. Also surviving are three sisters; Rita "Toodle" Clayton & twins Patsy Lindsey and Peggy Kennon. Pallbearers are Michael Bond, Jameson Bond, Aaron Bond, Matthew Bond, Kenneth Veazey & Eric Montalvan. Obituary: Joyce E. Koester, 74, of New Braunfels, Texas passed away peacefully at her home on , 13, 2016. She was born to Arno Scheideman and Ruth Strauss Scheideman in Fort Dodge, Iowa on 6, 1942. Joyce graduated from Fort Dodge High School and afterward entered Iowa Lutheran School of in Des Moines. She worked as an RN with the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in the Surgical Unit for many years until her retirement in 1997. She was a winter Texan for many years before moving there permanently in 2005. Joyce was very outgoing and loved to be around family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and taking trips to see her children and grandchildren. Joyce was a wonderful cook and loved to treat family and friends to delicious recipes from her large collection of cookbooks. She was a member of Cross Lutheran Church where she was involved in several volunteer activities. She was active with the New Braunfels Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, and helping translate publications into braille for the blind. She is survived by her husband, Jim Koester of New Braunfels; sons, Steven Koester and wife Monique of Treynor, IA and David Koester and wife Laura of Buford, GA; grandchildren, Chandler Koester, Vaughn Koester, Roman Koester, Braiden Koester and Jameson Koester; brother, Dale Scheideman of Little Rock, AR; sister, Sandy Wolfington and husband Jim of New Braunfels; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Rex Scheideman and Kent Scheideman. Obituary: James H. Jimmy Koester May 10, 1936 - 31, 2015. Jimmy Koester, 79 of Riesel, went to be with the Lord on 31. services will be on 4 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel with Rev. Robert Kitson officiating, interment to follow. Visitation will be on Jan 3 from 4 PM to 7 PM at Adams in Marlin. Jimmy was born on May 10, 1936 to Herman B. and Frieda (Berg) Koester, the second of two sons on the family farm near Riesel. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran in Riesel; baptized into the Christian faith on 14, 1936; confirmed on 2, 1950. Jimmy served his Lord in the congregation as an Elder, President, Trustee, Financial Board member and other positions. Jimmy attended elementary parochial school at Trinity then onto Riesel High School graduating in 1954. He began working at the USDA Blackland Experiment Station Watershed in Riesel following graduation as well as working on the family farm. On Nov. 21, 1959 he married Ruth A. Pursche at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel. Together they purchased a family farm near Riesel where they were blessed to raise their three children. Jimmy was drafted into the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1964. During his army service he received his technical training as a machinist. Upon discharge from the Army he returned to the USDA Experiment Station as an engineer technician machinist and remained with the USDA in Riesel, and then Temple retiring after 36 years. retirement Jimmy continued with farming and raising Polled Hereford cattle and working part time with his son Darrell in Koesters Machine Shop in Riesel. Preceding him in death were his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law O.I. and Anne (Korger) Pursche, one brother John H. Koester and one nephew Dwight Pursche. Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ruth, daughters Pamela and husband John Nussman, Sharon and husband David Raesener, and son Darrell all of Riesel, two grandsons Russell and wife Larissa Mezynski of Riesel and Ryan Mezynski of New Braunsfel, brother-in-law Roy H. Pursche and wife Ruby of Riesel, sister-in-law Burt Koester of Bryan, nieces Janice Vos and Joan Ison of Bryan, Janet Drapela of Riesel and nephew Phillip Pursche of Riesel.
