Obituary: Stella P. Klonek, age 85, of San Antonio passed away , 15, 2009 at St. Lukes Baptist Hospital, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Los Angeles, CA on 31, 1924. She served her country faithfully during WWII in the U.S. Army WAC, serving in New Guinea. Stella was a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church. She loved to visit Port Aransas through the years. The family would like to thank Julie Booth with Hospice Inspiris for her compassionate care. Stella is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew P. Padilla and Ricarda R. Persona. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joe O. Klonek; daughter, Katherine Susan Klonek; brothers, Andrew T. Padilla and Henry Padilla; numerous nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews and two great-great nephews. He was born on 12, 1930 in San Antonio, TX to Frank & Soledad Klonek, Sr. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. Mr. Klonek was also a member of the Christian Family Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed. Mr. Klonek was preceded in death by his parents.
