Obituary: Georgia Karen Kirby-Lutts, loving wife and mother, departed this life on May 16, 2015. She was born on 12, 1952 to Randall and Nellie Kirby in Florence, SC. Georgia is survived by her husband, Guy Lutts of Little Elm, TX; daughter, Desiree (Thomas) Jinks and husband Brian of Grand Prairie, TX; mother, Nellie Kirby of Timmonsville, SC; sister, Rhonda Lee and husband Rudy of Timmonsville, SC; grandson, Colton Thomas Jinks, who arrived on May 18, 2015; and feline companion, Ash. Georgia loved her church family and the fellowship there. She was a member of the ladies bible study and prayer group. She often participates in the Dare-to- ministry, writing cards to those who were ill or in need of encouragement and prayers. Georgia also visited those ill or having surgery in the hospital. Georgia loved to travel; she and husband recently made a 10,000 mile trip across the southern United States over two months. She was a wonderful cook who was always looking for new recipes and cook books. She was known for her kitchen support and potluck dishes at church gatherings. She also loved music, reading, and spending time with her beloved cat, Ash. Visitation for Georgia will be on , May 22, 2015 at Ted Dickey West , from 6-8 p.m. Services will be on , May 23, 2015 at Carrollton Church of the Nazarene, 1529 Hebron Parkway, Carrollton, TX 75010 at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in Timmonsville, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Carrollton Church of the Nazarene, 1529 Hebron Parkway, Carrollton, TX 75010 for the church organ. The memorial donations will be used for the repair and/or purchase of a church organ because of Georgias love of organ worship music. |

Obituary: MSgt. William I. Kirby II (Retired) (Bill) On , 27, 2014 at 10:16 a.m., God finally closed Bills eyes for the last time after a long and courageous battle with a long-term illness. His family was by his side. Bill was born on 27, 1937 in Camden, Tennessee to Millard and Georgia Kirby. He loved sports, dancing, and was a great artist and mechanic. He also loved children and animals. His love for airplanes led him to work for the airlines, get his pilots license for small airplanes and eventually join the military. Bill served 26 years in the United States Air Force, traveling to many countries. retiring, he then went on to work for the Travis Sheriff Department and was there 14 years before retiring to enjoy his favorite hobby, Hamm radio. Through this he made many lasting friendships. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; his daughter, Jackie Garza and husband Eddie; his son, Billy Kirby and wife Barbara; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his sister Barbara Davis and husband Jim; and several nieces and nephews. I would like to give a special thanks to Odyssey Hospice; especially Toni, Barbara, Lisa, Ruby and Edward for being there for Bill and helping me to care for him. Obituary: Weldon Odell Kirby, 80, surrounded by family, peacefully went home to be with his Lord on , Aug. 28, 2011. Memorial service: 11 a.m. , Sept. 9, in the sanctuary of Broadway Baptist Church, Fort Worth. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the SPCA, Broadway Baptist Church Baptist or a charity of choice. Weldon was born 3, 1931, in Rendon and lived in the Fort Worth area for most of his life. He was the seventh of 10 children born to Charles F. and Katie OBannon Kirby. At the age of 5, upon the death of his mother, Weldon and six of his siblings went to live at the Lena Pope in Fort Worth. He always considered his upbringing at the home his greatest blessing and credits Lena Pope and the home for his accomplishments in life. He served on the alumni board of the Lena Pope for many years and it was at an alumni reunion where he reconnected with his dear wife, Judy. He was a graduate of Arlington Heights High School, Class of 1950, where he excelled in both academics and sports, especially football. He served his country as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He then attended Texas Christian University while working at the Lena Pope . He worked a variety of jobs during his working life and retired from Yellow Freight after 20-plus years of service. Weldon was a man of faith who enjoyed computers and reading. In his youth, he was an athlete and avid runner. He was an accomplished dancer and enjoyed good music, old westerns and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved the Lord, Broadway Baptist Church and his church family. His greatest joy was getting together with family and friends. You never saw Weldon without a smile on his face or a twinkle in his eye. We will miss his charming sense of humor, bright smile and infectious laugh. He was predeceased in death by his former wife, Jean Kirby; his six brothers; and his beloved sister, Lill. Survivors: His devoted wife, Judy Kirby; son, Kevin Kirby and wife, Rhonda; daughter, Kelly Sistrunk; stepdaughter, Rene Farrar and husband, Jimmy Fields; stepson, Tracy Shaffer; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; sisters, Kay Black and Zadie Sanders and her husband, Blake Sanders, of Hico; and many nieces and nephews. under the direction of Shannon Rufe Snow Drive Chapel, Fort Worth, TX. |
