Obituary: a lengthy illness, Dorothy went to her Lord, surrounded in love by her family, friends, neighbors and her Church. Dorothy fought a three-year courageous battle with kidney failure and congestive heart failure. Dorothy was born 1/29/26 in Springfield, MO but was raised in Smith Kansas. She attended the Smith schools and graduated from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. She met her husband J. Thomas Tom Kirby in Kansas City, MO and was married in 1949. Later, they moved to Chicago, IL where Dorothy and Tom received their Master Degrees from George William . moved to St. Louis, MO where their three children were born. 17 years, the family moved to San Antonio, TX where they have lived for 33 years. Her parents, Frank and Eula Hoover, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, J. Thomas Tom Kirby. Children and grandchildren of San Antonio, TX; Frank & Michelle Kirby and children, Brandon & Garrett, Dana Vogeler, and children, Lauren & Augie, Jesse & Gigi Kirby and son, Aaron. She is survived by her only sister Ruth Hoover Vanderhoof & husband, John of Grand Junction, CO. Also, two foster children survive: Gennye and Eric Duncan and children, Brandon and Bryant; and Barney and Veronica Mora and children, Anais and Brian. Also numerous nieces and nephews and brothers-and sisters-in-law survive. Dorothy taught at Community in St. Louis, MO and taught Special Education at Lee High School in San Antonio for 20 years. In addition to teaching, helping her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. She was also active in Travis Park United Methodist Church and Coker United Methodist Church. Her smiling, quiet presence will be missed by all who her knew her, but particularly by her husband, children and grandchildren. Special Thanks to Dr. Marnie Ross, Dr. Jean John Lui and Dr. Susan Diamond for helping her maintain a quality of life during these ill-health years. |

Obituary: Dora Kirby, born 15, 1930 in Brownwood, Texas to William and Janie Parsons. Dora loved life through good times and hard times. She had a loving spirit and heart seen by everyone. Dora could be at a flea market, garage sale, Salvation Army or a major department store, just being with family and friends completely satisfied her. She enjoyed her life that God gave her. Although times were rough; losing unborn twins and three husbands to different illnesses, she always had an upbeat spirit and loving heart. Dora was married to John L. Baker of Abilene, Leon Gary of Buffalo Gap, and Horace Kirby of Howe, TX. Dora was 86 years old at the time of her death and loved the lord Jesus Christ with all her heart. His arms opened up on 27, 2016 to welcome her home in his paradise forever, never being alone. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Janie Parsons; a brother, William Parsons; and her three husbands. Betty Ann Ingram was Dora's primary caregiver for several years who Dora loved like a daughter. Dora loved her church, Light House Assembly of God, Abilene TX, with Pastor Sister Dorothy and her many friends from church. She is survived by a stepson, Wayne and wife, Diane Gary of Azle, TX; Betty Ingram and family of Abilene, and other nieces and nephews. Obituary: Claude Russel Kirby died on 28, 2016 and went to be with the Lord to celebrate with his family and friends that have passed before him in Heaven. Claude was born on 19, 1929 in Houston, Texas to Sam and Alice Kirby, being the first of three sons. The family moved to Pasadena in 1936 where he grew up and graduated from Pasadena High School in 1948. He began his career with Houston Lighting and Power Co. in 1948 and after two years joined the Army during the Korean Conflict where he served two years. this, he resumed his career with HL&P where he worked his way from a lineman's helper to the General Manager of Engineering, Transmission Construction, Transportation, Right of Ways and Shops. During this time, Claude continued with his education at the University of Houston and received an Engineering degree, being the first one in his family to graduate from college. He retired in of 1992 after 40 plus years with the company. He continued working for several years doing contract work in Argentina and Turkey. Claude married the love of his life, Billie Hooper, on 17, 1953 and celebrated 63 wonderful years of marriage this year. both have been active members of the Church of Christ where Claude has been an inspiration to many serving as a deacon, treasurer and elder. also went on many mission trips to Guatemala, Honduras, and other countries as well as endeavors closer to home. Claude always had an encouraging word and could light up the room with his sense of humor. Claude was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, a love he passed onto his sons and grandsons. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Alice Kirby; brothers, Arthur Theodore "Ted" Kirby and Samuel Willard Kirby; son, Robert Allen "Hank" Kirby and grandson, Ryan Kaase.He is survived by his wife, Billie; son, Mark Alan Kirby and wife, Dee; daughter, Alice Kay Kaase; nine grandchildren, Robert S. Kaase and wife, Gayle, Robin Kaase & Korey Lopez, Dakota Kirby, Russel Kaase, Darrion Hardion and husband, Zach, Ana Kaase, Alyssa Kaase, Cheyenne Kirby, and Rex Kirby and 2 great-grandchildren, Hazel Kaase and Ian Gomoll. A visitation will be held on , 5, 2016 at 1:00 pm and a funeral service at 2:00 pm at Forest Park The Woodlands , 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384 with an entombment to follow. The family would like to thank all of the friends and the A Med hospice family for all the help and prayers that have been given to us during the time Claude was battling dementia and other illnesses.
