Obituary: Sonja King passed away peacefully at Houston Methodist Hospital after her courageous battle with a very rare autoimmune disease. She was brave, fought hard and was surrounded by her family. Sonja is preceded in death by her loving father, Donald May and her precious furbaby Daisy. She is survived by her mother Shizuko May, her sister Tanya, brother Pat, her loving niece Kristen, her furbabies Sophie and Sadie, her love Eddie and many other family and friends. Obituary: Sidney A. King, 84, passed away on 20, 2011, at Christus St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont, Texas. He is survived by Ann Hamby King, his wife of fifty-eight years, daughter Karen King of Grand Rapids, Michigan, son Sidney A. King, Jr., of New Albany, Indiana, and sister Mary Halloran of San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. L. "Laurie" and Ima Mittie King, and brother Hubert L. King. Born 24, 1926, in Geneva, Texas, he served during World War II in the Army Air Force. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from Baylor University, and maintained an active private law practice in Beaumont since 1959. In addition to his career and family, he devoted his life to his church, serving as an elder at Ridgewood Church of Christ for almost thirty years. He provided spiritual leadership and legal counsel to numerous congregations in the region and, as a young man, preached widely in small churches throughout rural east Texas. He served as president of the Beaumont Coin Club and was an officer in the Lions Club. An avid collector of stamps and Texana literature, he loved to go fishing and play golf. Visitation will be , 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Forest Lawn . services are scheduled for , 23, at 10 a.m. at Ridgewood Church of Christ in Beaumont, with burial immediately following at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. |

Obituary: Sarah Earline Robinson King passed away in her sleep May 16, 2017 after a 4 year battle with Alzheimers disease. Known by most of her family and friends as Earline, she was born in Blakely, Georgia on 6, 1930 to parents Luther and Dorothy Robinson. She moved to Houston to work after her High School graduation and built a career in accounting and bookkeeping with Exxon, Gulf Oil & Rice University. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a long-time member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church where she served on the bereavement committee for many years as well as worked at the food pantry. She always enjoyed going to Curves in the Oak Forest area to exercise but especially to visit with all her friends there. She was outgoing and loved being around her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Luther T. Robinson, Dorothy Thompson Robinson, her husband Thomas V. King, and her sister Patty West. She is survived by her sister Faye Batt and her husband Murray; daughters Sandra Goodrich Bunge and husband Mike, and Robbie Goodrich Boyce and her husband Allen; son Terry Goodrich and his wife Charlotte; grandchildren Jared and his wife Jennifer, Lindsey and her husband Gale, Shane and his wife Mandy and Christi; and great-grandchildren Jalyn, Lily and Jace, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Brookdale Cy-Fair, especially all of the nurses in the memory care unit, for all the love and support they provided to our mother. Visitation will be held at Pat H. Foley at 1200 W. 34th Street on May 18th, 2017 from 5-8pm with a funeral service at Pat H. Foley on May 19th at 1pm. Interment to follow at Memorial Oaks at I-10 and North Eldridge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association or St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
