Obituary: Linda Jeanne Kerr went to be with the Lord on 21,2015 in Schertz, Texas. Linda was born on 27, 1957 in Boston, Massachusetts to Gladys and Ernest Bergmann. She was survived by her husband of 34 years Charles Kerr. She was also survived by her children Rebecca Gordy and granddaughter Charlotte of Austin, Texas; Son Charles Kerr, wife Ashley and grandson Kolton of Schertz, Texas; Son Matthew Kerr and wife Karee Kerr of Converse, Texas; and Son James Kerr of Schertz, Texas. She was also survived by her brother Ernest Bergmann and wife Bridget of Marion, Texas; and her sister Stephanie, husband Chris, and nephews Dee and Ben of Euless, Texas. She is preceeded in death by her mother Gladys and father Ernest as well as her mother in law Lenora Kerr and father in law Odell Kerr. Linda was an avid seamstress and loved to create outfits for the people she loved. She also owned a ceramics shop in Converse for many years where her creativity continued. She was a substitute teacher in SCUCISD and was a Den Mother of her sons Cub Scout Troop. She touched so many lives and will be greatly missed. A memorial will be held in her honor at La Cabana Mexican restaurant on 25, 2015 at 2:00pm. There will be a short service followed by a meal and time to reflect and remember her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks if you feel inclined, to make a donation to the foundation of your choice. |

Obituary: Jeffrey Walter Kerr, age 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a hard fought 6 year cancer battle on 25, 2013. Jeff leaves behind his mother, Jean Ellen Kerr, "mum", age 94, who currently resides in Dallas. He also leaves behind his older sister JoAnne Kerr from Connecticut and James "Jim" Kerr and 2 nieces from California. Jeff is preceded in death by his father, James J. Kerr who passed in 1994 and his beloved dog Dolly. Jeff was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 8, 1953. Jeff graduated from John Adams High School, South Bend, Indiana in 1972 and graduated from Indiana University Kelley School of Business with a degree in Accounting in 1976. Jeff bought his first home in The Colony in the late 80's, where he resided until his passing. Jeff is well known for his elaborate holiday decorations in Northpointe for Christmas and Halloween where he spent many hours preparing for the seasons trick-or-treaters and holiday light spectators. Jeff worked for 13 years as CFO for Performance Door and Hardware, Inc in Irving and previously worked for Western Extrusion for 12 years as the Assistant Controller. Jeff was a dedicated member in the Boy Scouts of America and continued to mentor the lives of Boy Scouts for many decades. As a boy, Jeff was a Life Scout who went on to serve as a Scout Master and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award. Jeff had many interests, countless friends and positively influenced those lucky enough to know him. Jeff loved to travel, was a fan of Ragbrai, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Texas Rangers, Walt Disney World and his beloved Hoosiers. Jeff loved the outdoors and to go sailing, boating, camping and fishing. Jeff loved to spend time with his friends and family, his "Bandits", good cigars, great scotch, good steaks and his dog Dolly. Though Jeff had no children of his own, he has positively affected the lives of countless Boy Scouts and young friends through his adventures, stories and advice. Jeff completed his first triathlon, one of his proudest moments, in Oct 2011 while battling cancer. Jeff has been quoted saying "Realize you must live for the moment since our time on earth is not in our control". Visitation will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest on , 28, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services for Jeff Kerr will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest on , 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Obituary: To live in the hearts that we leave behind is not to die. James Jimmy Storm Kerr, born in Brookhaven, Mississippi on 28, 1909, passed away on 19, 2006 in San Antonio, Texas. He grew up in Covington, Louisiana, graduated from St. PaulÂs School, and attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. During the depression, he worked on the Mississippi River to support his parents and two brothers. In 1932, he moved to San Antonio and worked as an appliance salesman at JoskeÂs. Jimmy joined the Army Air Corps in 1942 serving as a fighter controller in North Africa and Italy, and achieved the rank of captain. the war, he returned to San Antonio where he met his future wife, Rosemary. In 1946, he opened his own appliance store, the James Kerr , which operated on Broadway for ten years. the birth of his two children, he began to dream of creating an educational science program. In 1956, Jimmy founded the American Basic Science Club, which sold a series of affordable science kits by mail order to children and adults all over the world. Club members received ten kits in all, covering electronics, optics, photography, computers, atomic energy, meteorology, and more. The kits were advertised in such magazines as BoyÂs Life, Science Digest, and others. Later in life, Jimmy went on to design and receive a patent for an Optical Illusion Room, which was exhibited at the Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas. At the age of 82, he wrote and published Cosmic Doodles, which illustrated a unique and easy method of drawing intricate and beautiful geometric forms. Jimmy was the heart of the family. In addition to being a warm, loving husband and father, his involvement in his nieces and nephews lives went far beyond the usual role of uncle. For many decades, he has been the patriarch of a very close extended family. He was loved for his kindness, humility, acceptance of and genuine interest in others. Jimmy and Rosemary had 58 wonderful years together. It was a true partnership, in both business and family life. Later on, they enjoyed traveling through the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Central America. He was preceded in death by his parents James Daugherty Kerr and Sara Storm Kerr, and his two brothers Wallace McGrath Kerr and Harvey Cleveland Kerr. He is survived by his wife Rosemary Luckett Kerr; by his daughter Katharine Luckett Kerr and her husband Malcolm Harris Davies of San Antonio; by his son James Daugherty Kerr and his wife Carolyn Jones Kerr of Austin; and by his granddaughters Dylan Kerr Davies of Santa Fe NM, and Christina Evelyn Kerr of Austin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. |

Obituary: James W. Kerr (Jim) was born on 13, 1946 in Dallas, Texas. The son of Robert and Elizabeth Kerr, he grew up in Oak Cliff and graduated from Sunset High School in 1964. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1965 and served until 1968. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant after 20 months service in Vietnam. He served with MASS-2 and MAG-39 throughout I corps. He joined SSBA (which later acquired MBNA) in 1976 and worked there until his retirement in 2005. Since his retirement he and Janet (his wife of 17 years) have traveled extensively while documenting their extensive family trees. In addition to Janet, he is survived by a sister Martha Early, son Brian Gunter, and numerous grandchildren. The service will be held on , 5, 2010 at 10:30 at Ted Dickey West with the visitation the night before from 6-8. Obituary: James Wallace Kerr, Sr. died peacefully at home 25, 2010. He was born 9, 1914 in St. Paul, Arkansas and reared in Kansas City, Missouri. There he met Virginia Viola Porter, the love of his life, at Eastern High School. were married 4, 1936 and celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary prior to the death of Mrs. Kerr in 2003. Mr. Kerr was a retail merchant primarily with Montgomery Ward and then with J.C. Penny Co. This career offered the opportunity of residing in Louisiana, Missouri, Minnesota, Oklahoma, New York City, and several cities in Texas. In 1970 he took early retirement and established Hughes L. & S. Interiors in Dallas, his favorite city. The Kerrs traveled extensively which usually included every state and many foreign countries. Trips to Europe always included a stay in London. Mr. Kerr was a member of Brookhaven Country Club, Sons of the American Revolution, and the English-Speaking Union. He was a supporter of the Dallas Opera, the Dallas Symphony, Dallas Museum of Art, the Kimbell Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Mr. Kerr is survived by son Judge James W. Kerr, Jr. of Dallas, daughter Pamela and son-in-law Garry Sparks of Richardson, and grandsons Garry Sparks, Jr. of Chicago and Geoffrey Sparks of Washington, D.C. The family thanks Doris Betts for her 23 years of service and expresses gratitude to the associates of Community Hospice of Texas for their loving care.
