Obituary: John Lary Kephart, age 86, passed away , May 9, 2006 at his home in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Amorita, Oklahoma on 30, 1920 to the late John Hubert Kephart and Helen Josephine Lary. Lary was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific. He earned his B.S. degree from Oklahoma State University and went directly into the insurance business. He sold his agency in Oklahoma in 1958 and became manager of the Richard Gill Insurance Agency in San Antonio, Texas. Lary retired from Richard Gill Companies in 1974 as the senior Vice-President and established his own agency, Broadway Plaza Insurance Agency and remained active in the insurance business until his death. Lary was an active member of the Alamo Heights United Methodist Church as head usher and member of the Administrative Board. He was a member of the Alzafar Shrine and active in many national, state and local insurance associations and was President of the Texas Chapter of Certified Insurance Counselors as well as President of the Independent Insurance Agents of San Antonio. LaryÂs true gift was serving children tirelessly in the pediatric clinic at MethodistÂs ChildrenÂs Hospital where he was a member of the Auxiliary Board of Directors of the Blue Birds. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Wanda; daughter, Lary Jo; and sons, James; Mark; Tom and wife, Amy, San Antonio, TX; Phil and wife, Debi, Austin, TX; and Gunnar and wife, Barbara, Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Ryan and Taylor Kephart; Johanna Kephart; Dawn and husband, Kerry Dean, Jr.; Heather and husband, Cole Hendrick; Alex and wife, Sabrina Kephart; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Henry; nephew, Joel and wife, Elizabeth Henry and their children, Brooks and Andrew; niece, Lari Jane Jackson and daughter, Laren. Obituary: Judy Ann Mann was born 29, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, to John and Lillian Mann. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family 12, 2015, at the age of 66. She is survived by her adoring husband Terry Keown, loving sons Paul Settlemire (wife Karen) of Ft. Worth, TX., Mark Settlemire (wife Carolyn) of Mansfield, TX., and David Settlemire (wife Jamie) of Waxahachie, TX., and a loving daughter Annette Patience (husband David) of San Antonio, TX. She was the proud "Nana" of seven beautiful grandchildren: Andrew Settlemire, Steven Saraceni, Tyler Patience, Baylee Settlemire, Kaylee Patience, Rachel Black and Kelly Black. Also survived by sisters Jo Lockmiller (husband Ross) of Nevada, TX., and Sue Carter (husband Jesse) of Florida. Nieces Carrie Lockmiller of Lewisville, TX., and Cathy Carter of Florida. Nephews John William Mann (wife Angela) of Mansfield, TX., Buddy Carter and Eddie Carter of Florida, as well as numerous beloved friends and extended family. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, soon-to-be great-grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt and friend. She loved to spend time with her family and her beloved pets and gave a loving home to many animals in need. Judy filled the holidays and every day with love and tons of delicious food, as she loved to cook. She enjoyed spending time with her family, whether it was at home by the pool, on a cruise, or at the beach with her husband, kids and grandkids. She was always the life of the party! Obituary: Allan Ronald Keown, 79, passed away 25, 2014 in El Paso, Texas. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts and lived in El Paso since he was eight years old. He considered himself a true Texan. He graduated from Ysleta High School and The University of Texas at Austin where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology. Upon graduation he earned a Direct Commission as a Second Lieutenant and served four years as a U.S. Army Medical Officer and Troop Commander at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. He was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant. his discharge he, along with his partner Foster Drummond, operated Pearl Sales , a Mexican import firm and Showhouse El Paso, a manufacturers representative firm. also operated Little Mexico, a curio shop, in the airport. For 41 years he served the legal community as a Forensic Document Examiner (handwriting expert) and Expert Witness throughout the United States. He enjoyed 25 years as a member of the Del Norte Lions Club serving in many offices including President. He had a distinctive voice that led to a number of years of doing both Radio and TV commercials as well as acting in two movies, The Border and Fandango. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. He was a big fan of the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mildred Keown, and his brother, William. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Wanda; daughters, Kymberly Arnold and Kelly Pierce; grandchildren, Jeremy and Jason Smith; stepdaughters, Kathryn Wood and Diana Lucas; step-grandchildren, Steven and Jason Borrego, Jefferson, Anna and Michelle Lucas, two step great grandchildren Mikayla and Addison Borrego and one niece Andrews. He is also survived by his dog, Archie. Pallbearers will be Jason Borrego, Robert Thompson, Foster Drummond, John Webb, David Nichols, and Donny Benton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Brandt, John Malone, Ed Johnston, and David Wolking. Because of his great love of animals, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation in Allans name be made to the Humane Society of El Paso, 4991 Fred Wilson Drive, El Paso, Texas 79906 or to the Memorial Fund at his church St. Luke United Methodist Church. Obituary: KEOUGH Patrick Dennis Keough passed away , 29th, 2011 at the VA hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Pat was born in Dallas, Texas on 22nd, 1943 and immediately moved to San Antonio, growing up on Ridgemont Avenue in Terrell Hills. He attended Mount Sacred Heart Catholic School and later graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1961. Pat graduated from St. Marys University in 1967 following youthful experiences with Sigma Nu at the University of Texas in Austin and Schreiner in Kerrville. Pat was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1968 and spent the next three years serving in Heidelberg, Germany with Army Intelligence. being discharged, Pat moved back to San Antonio working in real estate as an agent, property manager, developer, and renovator. He was well known for his historic home renovations in the King William neighborhood and throughout Texas, including the artistic, painstaking renovation of the Hoopes House Bed & Breakfast in Rockport, Texas. Following his time in Rockport, Pat moved back to San Antonio as the owner-operator of Texas Mattress Co. He spent the last five years of his life in a Mason, Texas living in the historic house he helped renovate. Pat lived life to the fullest. He loved to cook, constantly tinkering and perfecting his South Texas recipes for all to enjoy. He was a legendary story-teller, recounting the deeds and misdeeds of himself and his friends throughout the back-roads of Texas. Pats favorite destination was West Texas including Fort Davis and Big Bend. Highway 90 road trips often included a stop at Crosbys in Ciudad Acuna. Pat has given much more to this world than he has taken, and will be missed dearly by all his friends and family. Pats friendly demeanor and sharp wit could make anyone, anywhere, at anytime, feel at ease. His sudden illness and unexpected passing reminds all of us that lifes journey should be embraced.
