Obituary: Francois Keeton Francois Keeton was raised in San Antonio, TX. She moved to Lubbock in the early 40s after she married Ralph Keeton, whose family resided there. met when he was stationed at Randolph Field in San Antonio during World War II. Mrs. Keeton was always active in community affairs in Lubbock. She was a charter member of the Lubbock Womans Club. She was the Provisional Chairman for her class after being accepted in the Lubbock Junior League. In addition, she served as President of the Lubbock Little Theatre. She remained active in all of these organizations for many years. She was also an avid supporter of the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra. Mr. and Mrs. Keeton participated in the Camp Fire Girls organization, where she served as a leader for a group of young girls for several years, as well as contributing her time in other areas. Mr. and Mrs. Keeton were very active in First Christian Church for over 20 years. Mrs. Keeton sang in the church choir on a weekly basis during this time. She also served as head of the womens group and Chairman of her womans circle during this time. In addition, Mrs. Keeton was known as a fashion model and a model for hair styles. She modeled for Margarets dress shop, as well as for hair stylist Jessie Lee. She taught charm and grace classes, thereby teaching young girls the art of poise and grace. Mr. and Mrs. Keeton moved to Waco, TX in about 1972. transferred their church membership to Lakewood Christian Church, where they both served in a number of capacities. Mrs. Keeton once again served as head of womens groups and donated her time to assisting and chairing various committees, as well as a number of other endeavors. Mrs. Keeton passed away on 2, 2010, in Waco, TX. She was 90 years old. Mrs. Keeton is survived by her son, Ralph Keeton, Jr., and her daughter, Claudia Keeton Parrish. Her grandchildren include Ashley Parrish, Angela Parrish Cherry, and Kathleen Keeton Spiegel. In addition, she is survived by eight great grandchildren. Obituary: Evelyn Franklin Slagle Keeton, age 96, of Brownwood, Texas passed away on Aug 1, 2014. Evelyn was born in Taylor Texas on 23, 1918 to William and Annie Slagle. She was a graduate of Taylor High School. She was born with a happy heart, sparkling blue eyes and a beautiful smile. She accepted Christ as her savior as young adult. She married Albert Carl Keeton, Sr. in Taylor. celebrated fifty-five (55) years of marriage prior to his death in 1992. In the early 1940s she and Albert Johnny moved to Brownwood where they built their own home. With her failing memory, she never forgot her little house on the corner. Evelyn was a Job 31: 28-31 woman of strong faith who loved the old gospel hymns. She was the longest surviving member at the New Beginnings Pentecostal Church at the time of her death. She was honored to be a life time member of New Beginnings W.M.S. She was always active in her childrens and grandchildrens activities including the Brownies, Girl Scouts, baseball and football. She served as an active member of the P.T.A., serving several terms as president.He was an excellent cook, always sharing her dishes with family and friends. Everyone wanted her home cooked BBQ meatballs. Evelyn worked as a cashier for Smith Grocery Store/soda fountain and many years at the Sidran garment factory located in the Camp Bowie area, making uniforms for the U. S. Army. She also worked as a cafeteria supervisor for the North Elementary school cafeteria, as a cashier for Mrs. Bairds bread store, in food services at Howard Payne University, and as a food dorm supervisor for the Juvenile Justice System. She also volunteered at the Salvation Armys Loaves and Fishes. She was honored as a 2008 Jefferson Award Nominee and as a 2008 Precious Jewels Finalist by the for Building Community at Abilene Christian University. For several years , in her 80s, she volunteered as a Salvation Army Bell Ringer at Christmas in front of Wal Mart so the regular Ringers could take a lunch break. Evelyn worshiped our Lord, living a Christian life as a wife, mother, grandmother, Nanny, Granny\, and as a great-great grandmother. She was a devoted friend to many, including three special groups of friends, during her stay in Abilene. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Billy Burwell Slagle; her infant son, Raymond Albert Keeton, at age 31 days; and her husband. She is survived by three daughters; Billie K. Rich,(Bill) of Abilene, Jerre Crisp of San Angelo, Pamela L. Luster (Lynn) of Brownwood; one step-daughter; Lanell ONeal of Orange, California; two sons;Carl Keeton, Kristy Sanger and Tommy D'Wayne Keeton of San Angelo. Nine grandchildren; Ricky Stanley, Micki Stanley, Lisa Langley, Kelly Jelensperger, Terry Shannon, Jason Templeton, Kade Templeton, Kristi Pierce, and Joshua Linders. Sixteen Great grandchildren. Five Great-great grandchildren. Evelyns devotion to her family and friends stands as testament to her life. She touches so many lives with her warm, unfailing, positive, thankful and giving heart. Her beautiful smile and shining blue eyes will forever be our remembrance. A celebration of life will be at Davis-Morris , 800 st, Brownwood, TX on 5th, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Staley cemetery , U.S. Hwy 183 north. Obituary: Bueford Keeton passed away 19, 2016 in Odessa. The world stood still this morning. Bueford was called to Heaven. He married the love of his life Judie Cothran in 1963. lived a full life together. He worked for Phillips Petroleum for 20 years as a maintenance supervisor in Goldsmith, Texas. He retired in 1992. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany in 1961. He loved the sport of bowling. Some of his achievements include serving as President of the ABC and US BC Bowling League, City Secretary for the Odessa Bowling Association. Serving as Secretary for the City Industrial League. If there was bowling he was there. Especially if it was in Nevada. He loved all of his friends and there were many. And they loved and respected him. He bowled up until our Lord called him to heaven. If it was thundering outside he and Judie told the kids Jesus was bowling. He was a Baptist. Bueford had two sons, Steve and wife Kathy of Odessa, David and wife Jeri of Youngsville, LA, six grandchildren Katy, Cody, Emily, Chelsi, Heather, Kelsie, five great grandchildren Shelby, TJ, Kiley, McKenleigh and Stran. He was preceded in death by his Mother Ethel Greenfield, Father Chester Keeton and sister Nelda Marr. Bueford loved his family dearly. He leaves lasting memories for all. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm , 22, 2016 at Frank W. Wilson Directors. Graveside services will be 11am , 23, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jason Cothran officiating.
