Obituary: Leo Joseph Kainer passed away peacefully on , 9, 2014. He was born in Schulenburg, TX (High Hill) on 25, 1928. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jeanine Kainer; daughters, Jocelyn (Dan) Fall and Rajeana (Jeff ) Thomas; brothers, Leonard (Joyce) Kainer of Katy, TX and Erwin (Marie) Kainer of Northfield, MN; grandchildren, Jordan (John) Forest, Donovan Fall, Rachel Thomas and Michael Thomas. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews and their children.

He is preceded in death by his father, Erwin Frank Kainer and mother, Mary Ann (Muenster) Kainer; brother, Robert Kainer.

Leo loved to tell the stories of his years in the Merchant Marines, after which he became a gang foreman on the Southern Pacific Railroad as they laid track for the conversion of the steam engine trains to a diesel locomotive. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 with an Honorable Discharge in 1961.

Leo moved to Calhoun in 1955. He was co-owner of Auto Parts and Machine , served for over 35 years as a Calhoun Port Commissioner, served over 35 years on the Soil and Water Conservation District and was a member of the Port Lavaca Evening Lions Club for over 42 years. While living in Olivia, he was so proud of helping to develop the Olivia Fire Department. He loved his community and served in many ways through community service and by cooking for event fund raisers for non-profit and charitable organizations.

Leo was a Christian man who loved the Lord and was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. He was an outdoorsman and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He shared this passion with family and many friends.

Leo and Jeanine moved to West Melbourne, Florida in 2013.

Obituary: Julia Ann Kainer, 91, of Victoria passed away , May 5, 2010. She was born May 22, 1918, in Shiner to the late Frank K. and Julia Gieptner Pavlicek. She married Edward F. Kainer, Sr. on May 5, 1938, in Praha. She was homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral.

Survivors include her sons, Edward F. Kainer, Jr. and his wife, Paula, of Victoria, Don Kainer and his wife, Nancy, of Longmont, Colorado, and James Kainer and his wife, Rami, of East Bernard; sisters, Marcelline Blaha of Angleton and Georgiann Barta of Praha; grandchildren, Ted Kainer and his wife, Jamee, of Katy, Barbara Hoskinson and her husband, Joel, of Portland, Matthew Kainer of Houston, Paige White and her husband, Kirk, of Sugarland, Michael Kainer of Longmont, Colorado, Katy Cafazza and her husband, Charlie, of Santa Clara, California; great-granddaughters, Allyson Hoskinson, Abby and Alex Kainer and Clara White.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Kainer, Sr.

Visitation will be 6-7 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7 pm on , May 10, 2010, at Rosewood Chapels.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 am , May 11, 2010, at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral, Msgr. Michael Harrold officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection .

Pallbearers will be Matt Kainer, Ted Kainer, Michael Kainer, Joel Hoskinson, Dr. Mike Farrell and Charles Jahn.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Jerry Lee Kainer, Sr. loving husband, father and grandfather passed away 21, 2001 at the age of 65 after a courageous battle with liver cancer. Jerry was born in Sagerton, TX on 8, 1936.A graduate of Texas Lutheran University, he served in the Air Force Reserve; was a member of the Golden Mile Optimist Club and JayceeÂs; Assistant Scout Master of Troop 503; active in PTA and Charger Club at Churchill High School; assistant buyer at JoskeÂs; merchandise manager at Montgomery Wards; retired from Xerox Corporation after 30 years. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Clara and Eddie Kainer and brother, Everett Kainer. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara Kainer; brother, Carl Kainer; son Lee and wife Karen of San Antonio; son Lawton and wife Amy of Tomball; daughter, Leslie Kokenes and husband Chris of McKinney; two grandsons Alec Kainer and Colton Kokenes; and his loyal Maltese, Marco.Many thanks and much appreciation to the caring staff of C.T.R.C. and especially to Dr. Steven Kalter, Judy, Monica and Ginger. Vicki was survived by her husband Robert Kailing of San Antonio, her father and mother, Vernon and Bennie Wimberley of Austin, Texas; her brother, Ricki Wimberley, and his wife Dee Anna of San Antonio. Her three children Kristi Daniels and husband Eric of Ft. Worth, Bobby Kailing and wife Kristin and Katie Kailing of Austin. Her nieces Anna, Jordan and Erin Wimberley of San Antonio, Texas. As well as grandchildren Alyiah, Ella and Grace. Vicki graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelors degree in accounting and a MBA. She worked for Ernst and Ernst during her early years and spent most of her career with IBM as a system engineer. Vicki attended Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin while growing up and Crown of Life Lutheran Church in San Antonio for the last 16 years and more recently Concordia Lutheran Church. She was a fan of motion pictures and enjoyed cooking meals from the food channel later in life. She was a docent at the Institute of Texan Cultures and enjoyed painting with water colors. Vicki fought a good fight to the very end for she loved life and her family. Her strength, courage, and trust in the Lord was even more vibrant in her last years. She was loved by her family and will be missed.
