Obituary: Lois Keyes, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on , 11, 2015. She was born on May 7, 1932 in Leckie, West Virginia to Ulysses and Rhoda Holbrook Richardson. Lois grew up in North Wilkesboro and married Rev.Charles Keyes in 1950 and they made their home in Hickory. Together they ministered to countless people in the Appalachian Mountains and Charles was known affectionately as “The Parson of the Hills”. Lois is survived by her children, David Keyes and wife Finley of Hickory, Teresa Winata and husband Asher of Houston, Texas; sister, Ruby Shumate of North Wilkesboro; granddaughter Joni Horne and husband Nate of Hickory; great grandchildren, Zachary Horne and Jonathan Horne and lifelong friend, Jean Payne. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Charles “The Parson of the Hills” Keyes. A graveside service will be held on , 15, 2015 at 10:00 am at Catawba Memorial Park. Obituary: Mattie Johnson Keyes, 102, of Lenoir, passed away , 15, 2010 in Morganton. Mrs. Keyes was born in Caldwell to the late Art Johnson and Ruth Belle Pipes Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ward Keyes; five brothers and three sisters. She was a retired secretary from Broyhill Furniture. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church in Lenoir where she was a served as a school teacher, in the church library and member of the senior choir. Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Angley of Morganton; a sister, Verna Johnson Thompson of Lenoir; two grandchildren, Ronny and Robby Angley, both of Morganton. A funeral service will be held , 17, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in Pendrys Chapel with Reverend Mike Isaacs and Reverend Mark Denton officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at Pendrys on hour prior to the service. The family requests that memorials be made in memory of Mrs. Mattie Keyes to the Burke Hospice, P O Box 1029, Valdese, NC 28690. Obituary: Jacqueline Keyes, age 91, of High Point, died at Pennybyrn on 2nd, 2017. She was born in 1925 in Owosso, Michigan, to Susan Ott and John Doyle. On May 3rd, 1947, she married Byron Keyes, who preceded her in death after 62 years of marriage. She worked at The High Point Enterprise for 16 years, and after moving to Chapel Hill, worked for local government of Orange until her retirement. She is survived by two daughters, one in Greensboro, and one in Paris, France. A graveside service will be held on , 12, 2017 at 2:00pm. at Salisbury National in Salisbury, North Carolina.
