Born 23, 1915, to the late John and Bertha Baker, Mrs. Kenyon was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and sewing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William Odell Kenyon; a son, Odell Kenyon, Jr.; and her two brothers. Obituary: Howard (Ken) Frederick Kenworthy died peacefully on 24, 2013 at Universal care Brunswick in Bolivia, NC. He resided in Oak Island where he lived with his son James and daughter in-law Barbara until recently moving into Universal care. Howard was born 7, 1919 in Ludlow, Vermont, the son of George & Bertha Kenworthy. He graduated from Black River Academy in 1937 and Bay Path in 1938. He married Geraldine Farrar of Chester, Vermont on 19, 1942, the daughter of Raymond and Adelia Farrar. Geraldine was the love of his life and she passed away on 6, 2012. Howard & Geraldine loved to travel and visit their many lifelong friends. had celebrated 70 years of marriage on 19, 2012 and will now be together again. Howard joined B, 172nd Infantry in 1940. His military service took him to Camp Blanding FL., Ford Ord, CA and then to the Cook Island, Aitutaki, in the South Pacific. He was promoted to Master Sergeant and had the duties of Sergeant Major of his Force. His service ended in 1945. He then joined the John Hancock Life Insurance Co. and after 25 years with that company, started his own General Insurance Agency in Chester, VT and later in Brattleboro, VT with Geraldine as his partner. In Brattleboro they also established a successful real estate business, Kenworthy Realty. In 1974 they sold their insurance and real estate businesses and moved to Clermont, FL where they became real estate brokers for Outdoor Resorts near Disney World. Howard was very active in the communities where he lived and served as an officer for the Disabled American Veterans in Rutland, VT and the Salvation Army in Brattleboro. He was a past Vermont Sate Director for the Good Sam Club, Vice President of the Brattleboro Rotary Club and Past President of the Vermont Tourist Club in Deland, FL. He was also an active member of the Shriners and Elks organizations and was a proud 65 Year member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his daughter Norma Wilcox and husband Forest Harlan of Chico, CA and his daughter Barbara Esada and husband Kenneth of Ventnor City, NJ, son James Kenworthy and wife Barbara of Oak Island, NC, son Dr. Paul Kenworthy and wife Ellie of Burlington, VT. Howard took great pleasure in sharing in the lives of his 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. His grandchildren are Richard Kenworthy and wife Roberta of Cary, NC, Jeremy Kenworthy and wife Tamara of Clayton, NC, Lee Esada of Gaithersburgh,MD. Allison Kenworthy of Washington, DC and Graham Kenworthy of Oxford, OH. His 3 great-grandchildren are Nicole and Melissa Kenworthy of Clayton, NC and Dawson Kenworthy of Cary, NC. He was pre-deceased by his sisters Helen Rand of Winter Park, FL and Ruth Ripley of Deland, FL. The family expresses its sincere gratitude to the wonderful people at Coastal Companion of Southport and Universal care Brunswick for their attentive care. The family will celebrate a private memorial service at a later date and burial will be in the Pleasant View , Ludlow, VT. Obituary: Geraldine Farrar Kenworthy Geraldine Farrar Kenworthy passed away on , 6, 2012 at Universal care of Brunswick in Bolivia, NC. She resided in Oak Island, NC with her husband, Howard Kenworthy. Mrs. Kenworthy was born 28, 1921 in Cavendish, Vermont, to the late Adelia and Raymond Farrar. She was the oldest daughter of 7 children and grew up on a farm in Chester, Vermont. She graduated from Chester High School in 1939. She married Howard Kenworthy on 19, 1942. had four children. Geraldine attended Bay Path Institute Business School of Springfield, MA in 1940. She worked as a secretary at the Crosby Milling in Brattleboro, VT. She obtained her general insurance license in the state of Vermont in 1956 and assisted her husband in his insurance agency. She went on to get her real estate license and worked as an independent agent. Later she and her husband, Howard, formed Kenworthy Realty in Brattleboro, VT. She was President of the Brattleboro Business & Professional Womans Club. She was also Vermont Secretary for the Good Sam RV Club. She and her husband shared time traveling the country in a motor home. moved to Kissimmee, FL where they operated the real estate office at Outdoor Resorts of America, a 1,000 site RV park 4 miles west of the entrance to Walt Disney World. retired in 1983 and moved to Deland, FL. moved to Oak Island, NC in 2000. have been very active in the Oak Island Senior Group and value all the wonderful friends that they made there. She is survived by her husband, Howard Kenworthy, and her daughter Norma Wilcox and husband Forest Harlan of Chico, CA and her daughter Barbara Esada and husband Kenneth of Ventnor City, NJ and her son Jim Kenworthy and wife Barbara of Oak Island, NC and her son Dr. Paul Kenworthy and wife Ellie of Burlington, VT. Her 5 grandchildren are Ricky Kenworthy and wife Roberta, Jeremy Kenworthy and wife Tamara both of NC, Allison Kenworthy of NJ, Graham Kenworthy of VT and Lee Esada of MD. Her 3 great-grandchildren are Nicole and Melissa Kenworthy and Dawson Kenworthy, all of NC. She was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Farrar and sisters, Doris Farrar and Arlene Randall. Surviving siblings are Joyce Houle of Hampton, NH, Donald Farrar of Chester, VT and Stanley Farrar of Springfield, VT. The family expresses much gratitude to the staff of Coastal Companion of Southport, Universal care of Brunswick in Bolivia and Liberty Hospice for the loving and wonderfully attentive care they all gave to Geraldine. Geraldines memory will be cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. Her lifetime signature was her bright beautiful smile and ever optimistic attitude.
