Obituary: KIRKPATRICK, TOMMY R. age 62, of Ashville, passed away May 22, 2010. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lavada and John Layne and Thomas and Celia Kirkpatrick; and his parents, Floyd Kirkpatrick and Lucille Kirkpatrick Jent. Mr. Kirkpatrick served in the U.S. Navy and was on board the U.S.S. Intrepid that recovered Maj. Virgil Grissom and Lt. Commander John Young following their Gemini 3 space flight, historys first controlled re-entry into the earths atmosphere on 23, 1965. He worked for Big B Drugs in Sumiton and was also the Manager at Firestone on Birminghams Southside. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla R. Kirkpatrick; two sons, Byron Kirkpatrick and Peter Kirpatrick; two sisters, Celia Owens (Don) and Peggy Hyde (Bill); and one grandchild, Chase Alvis. A graveside service will be held , May 25, 2010 at 11:00 am Elmwood . The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am at Ridouts Elmwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to N. E. Miles Jewish Day School in Birmingham or Lister Memorial Baptist Church in Pell City. |

Obituary: KIRKPATRICK, JOHNNIE MAE KRATZ, age 85 of Birmingham, went to be with the Lord on , 28, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Kirkpatrick, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Johnna Lynn Byrd (Gary); sons, Ron Kirkpatrick, Jr. (Debbie) and Pat Kirkpatrick (Dawn); brother, Eugene Kratz (Dorothy); grandchildren, Kristin Kirkpatrick, Julie Kirkpatrick Hodges (Wes), Christopher Byrd, Jennifer Byrd, Baileigh Kirkpatrick and Ashleigh Kirkpatrick; great-grandchildren, David Roy, Jason Roy and Karlie Hodges; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Johnnie Mae was an active member of First Baptist Church of Chalkville and former member of Wylam Baptist Church. She taught School for many years, passing on her deep faith in God to many generations. She taught school in the Birmingham area for over 25 years. Her family will receive friends on , 6, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Ridouts Trussville Chapel. Her service will be at the chapel on , 7, 2015 beginning at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Oakland . |

Obituary: Memorial Service for Jana Kirkpatrick of Piedmont will be , 2, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Nances Creek Congregational Holiness Church with the Rev. Ethan Gouger and the Rev. John Cole officiating. Burial will be at the Kerr family cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Jana passed away 19, 2016 in Tuscon, Arizona where she was working as a travel nurse. Survivors include her husband, Danny Beavers; children, Ivy Hooper (Jeremy) of Piedmont, Ashley Johnson (Stephen) of Jacksonville, Justin Kirkpatrick (Lindsay) of Roanoke, and Josh Kirkpatrick (Heather) of Jacksonville; her mother, Kerr Ivie; one sister, Dara Cole (John); grandchildren, Gavin Walker, Kerrigan Johnson, Anabella Kirkpatrick, Oliver Kirkpatrick, Jackson Kirkpatrick, Johnathon Kirkpatrick, and Jeremiah Kirkpatrick. Jana had been a Licensed Practical Nurse for 35 years. She was a member of Nances Creek Congregational Holiness Church, loved taking care of people, and was an outstanding nurse. She was employed at Kindred Hospital in Tuscon, Arizona at the time of her passing. She was previously employed at Piedmont , Regional Medical , and Cherokee and Rehab. She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Ivie and her sister, Dona Doyal. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Piedmont Indigent Patient Fund. |

Obituary: Kirklin, Jeannine C., 90, a resident of Montgomery, AL. died , 4, 2015. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roland A. Kirklin. Survivors include her son, Kenneth Marc Kirklin and his wife, Heidi Louise Kirklin of Montgomery, AL.; granddaughters, Heather Leigh Kirklin and Ashley Michelle Barnhill (Houston). Mrs. Kirklin was a French Teacher for many years at Robert E. Lee H.S. and will leave many fond memories of her students. Visitation will be at Leak Memory Chapel on , 8th at 1:00pm. Graveside services will follow at 2:00pm in Greenwood with Father Alejandro Valladares. Pallbearers will be Kim Sellers, Max Gantt, Tim Tucker, Walker Grant, Chuck Grant and Steve Landers.
