Devoted father of Carol Danner and her husband Robert of Wakefield, Kenneth Kwiatkowski, Sr. and his wife Joanne of Chelsea and the late Diane Kwiatkowski. Former husband of Laura (Uminski) Kwiatkowski of Chelsea. Brother of the late Helen Kwiatkowski, John Kwitkor and Charles Kwiatkowski. Cherished grandfather of Sean Conlon and his wife Leanne of Winthrop, Brian Conlon, Sr. of Newton, Ashley, Melissa, Kenneth, Jr. and Mary Margaret Kwiatkowski, and Heidi Chichester and her husband Bryan of Aliquippa, PA. Also lovingly survived by his great grandchildren, Brian, Kylie, Kaytlin, Alexis and Anthony as well as many nieces and nephews. Obituary: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Alfreda T. Kwiatkowski on , 25, 2014 at Notre Dame Long Term . Alfreda was born on 6, 1924 in Worcester, Massachusetts, daughter of Felix and Jadwiga Chludzinski. She graduated from St. Marys Grammar School, Commerce High School and Felt & Tarrant Comptometer Business School. She loved to tell the story of how she worked in the office of the former Reed & Prince where she made 35 cents an hour and then got a raise to 37 cents. She loved Polish polkas and speaking Polish. She was proud of her Polish heritage. She met her husband, Mitchell J. Kwiatkowski, at a Polish dance and they married two years later in 1948. spent 53 happy love-filled years together. were always together gallivanting. vacationed through the New England states, New York, Washington, Pennsylvania and Canada. visited Florida, cruised to St. Thomas, Curacao and some of the other Virgin Islands. By far their favorite trip was to the Islands of Hawaii. When her children were born, she became a stay-at-home mom. When they were older she worked as a Kelly Girl at different offices. In 1968 she began working in the Accounting Department of Melville Shoe Corporation where she made many close friends that she continued to see frequently for lunch even many years after retirement. She always spoke of her happy days at Thom Mc An. She remained in her own home until 2012. She then resided at Notre Dame Assisted Living and a year ago she moved to Notre Dame Long Term . Alfreda was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Polish American Veterans and a member of the Czestochowa Guild of Polish Women. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish in Worcester. Alfreda was predeceased by her husband Mitchell in 2001. She was also predeceased by her brother, Edward, in 1944 and in 2011 by her son-in-law and good friend, Edward ORourke, Jr. with whom she had a special bond. Alfreda leaves her daughter, Nancy ORourke of Shrewsbury; her son Edward M. Kwiatkowski and wife Paula of North Grafton and her son Thomas F. Kwiatkowski and wife Maria of Hubbardston. She also leaves her six grandchildren, Kara Prendergast and her husband, Jeff, of Holden, Kristin Kwiatkowski and her fiancé, Michael Conlon, of Worcester, Jessica and Melissa Kwiatkowski of Hubbardston and Edward and Thomas ORourke of Shrewsbury, as well as three great-grandchildren: Ryan and Matthew Prendergast and Leila Conlon. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was affectionately called Grammy by many. She loved to hear about what her kids and grandkids were up to. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. We love and will miss her with all our hearts. The family would like to thank the staff at Notre Dame Long Term for the wonderful care she received. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
