Obituary: SHREVEPORT, LA \ Avis Delight Vansice Kyler, born Oct. 8, 1920 in Baxter, IA to Anna Garrison Vansice and Will Vansice, went to be with The Lord following a sudden illness on 7, 2015, at the age of 94. Avis graduated from Baxter High School where she was an avid basketball player and saxophone player. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making quilts for family members. She was employed at TRW Industries in Burlington for 33 years. She was a member of the ABWA and was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge for over 50 years and served as Chaplain and Sr. Regent. She was a Charter Member of Faith Lutheran Church in Burlington, and transferred her membership to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Shreveport where she moved in the late 1980s after becoming widowed. She later married James C. Kyler and they have shared a wonderful life together. Avis was predeceased by her daughter, Meta Stevens; her son, Bernard C. Trueper; five brothers, Wilbur, Jerry, Donald William, and Kenny Vansice; and two sisters, Annette and Margorie; and great-great grandson, Jacob Taylor. She is survived by her husband and best friend, James C. Kyler of Shreveport; daughter, Rosa Foy of Shreveport; brother, Keith Vansice of Minnesota; sisters, Betty McMahn, Janice Funk, Emily Carkuff and Ione Grant of IA; granddaughter, Kim (Damon) Neeson, Shreveport; grandson, Dr. Kevin (Monique) Huston, Shreveport; grandson, Teddy (Sandra) Pearsall, Haughton; great-grandchildren, Amanda (Robbie) Holman, Shreveport, Joshua (Jessica) Taylor, Shreveport, Jeremy Taylor, Shreveport, Joey Pearsall, Haughton, Sara Pearsall, Bossier, Chad (Tiffany) Pearsall, Florida. She is also survived by six great-great-grandchildren. She was affectionately known as Grandma Great. Everyone that met Avis loved her. She was always thinking of others and her goodness extended to everyone that knew her. We will miss her but have great comfort in knowing we will be reunited again in Heaven. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Life Hospital, Dr. Morrison, Dr. Kompelli, and especially her nurse, Jennifer Vascocu RN for the compassionate care extended toward her. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., , 11, 2015, at Centuries Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Robert Salts. Visitation will be from 9:00 \ 10:00 a.m. at Centuries Memorial prior to going to graveside. |

Kyle, Sr. 23, 1951 - 14, 2010 Gary Marlin Kyle, Sr., 59, a native of Choctaw, Mississippi and a resident of Morgan City passed away , 14, 2010 at 2:45 PM at Teche Regional Medical in Morgan City. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Marlin Kyle and Betty Ellis Bodin and his stepfather, Joseph Bodin. He is survived by his children, Melissa Kyle and Gary Kyle, Jr., two brothers Larry Kyle and wife Paula and Johnny Kyle and wife Barbara, a sister Kathy Wiggins and, husband the late Paul Ashley Wiggins. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends. A Memorial Visitation in his honor will be held at Hargrave in Morgan City, on , 18, 2010, beginning at 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM with services beginning at 5:00 PM.
