Obituary: Kathryn Kopecky, 68, went to be with her Savior on , May 4 2010. She has been a resident of Sulphur for 30 years. She worked at Olin Chemical, where she was known as KK, from 1980-1992. She then worked for Gravity Drainage from 1992-2005. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Arnold; her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Tonya Kopecky; her five grandchildren, Cody, Kyra, Amber, TJ, and Caleb; one great-granddaughter, Angelika; and two sisters, Roberta Kutzke and Sandy Robison. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elza and Marie Brinneman. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will truly be missed. A memorial service will be held for Kathryn at 2 p.m. , May 7, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial . Pastor Brad Easley of Lakewood Bible Fellowship will officiate. He was a resident of Lake Charles, a retired electrician from Local 861, served in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. Obituary: Margie Koonce, 87, passed away on , 18, 2015 at Harbor Hospice. She was born in Brazoria, TX. but had lived in Westlake most all of her life. She attended First Baptist Church of Westlake as long as she was able. She worked as a Branch Manager at Chase National Bank. She was also a member of the Autumn Club. She is survived by two sons, Bobby Shattuck and wife Arlene of Boynton Beach, Florida, and Alan Shattuck and wife Karen of Franklinton, LA. Also surviving are two daughters, Linda Wease of Westlake, LA., and Debbie Brown and husband Mark of Houston, TX. Also, she is survived by one brother Sidney Blume of Springs, TX., and two sisters, Lois Marbach of Roswell, NM., and Joy Ray Vines of Monroe, LA. Also, she leaves behind seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husbands John H. Shattuck and Koonce and her parents John and Ida Blume. Services will be held on , 25, 2015 at 10:30am at Hixson of Westlake. Oliver McGuire and Dr. Wayne McEntire will officiate. Obituary: Lois Hoffpauir Koonce, 86, was called to her eternal rest on , 4, 2011, in her daughters residence. A native of Ebenezer, Louisiana, she resided in Sulphur for the last 61 years. Lois had a love for her family which was exceeded only by her love for God which was evident in her every day life. She felt closest to God in her garden and if you knew her, you would have known she spent a lot of time there. Those left behind include her son, Daniel W. Koonce of Little Rock, Arkansas; her three daughters, Elaine Koonce Dawson and husband, Billy of Westlake, Beth Koonce Evely and husband, Rich of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Beverly J. Koonce of Sulphur; one brother, L.A. Hoffpauir of Sweetlake; three grandchildren, Amanda Dawson, Mariah Evely, and Thomas Evely; 18 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews who all loved her very much. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Norman Lester Koonce; her parents, Dan and Mabel Hoffpauir; sisters, Helen Joiner and Dorothy F. Hoffpauir; and a brother, Daniel V. Hoffpauir. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. , 7, in Houston River Baptist Church. The Revs. Lonnie Gothrup and Richard Beckham will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial . Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. and 9 a.m. to noon , in the funeral home, and from 1 p.m. until the time of service in the church. The family would like to thank her two caregivers, Patty Mehringer and Cathy Davis who loved her as their own mother, and also to the staff of Christus Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, Bobbie Jewel Tyson, Wanda Gaynell Powell; three brothers, Fred Milton Vallery, John Dalton Vallery, and Joseph Wayne Vallery. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. , Aug 8, in Hixson Moss Bluff Chapel in Moss Bluff. Visitation is Aug 7, 4-8 p.m. and resume 11 a.m. until the service of funeral in the funeral home officiated by Reverend Mark Randy Stanton of Westlake.
