Obituary: Patsy Whitehead Kemp, 85, passed away , Aug. 24, 2015 at her home in Holden, LA. Patsy was a life long member of Magnolia Baptist Church, Holden. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grand, great, and great-great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved her. Graveside service will be held at Stafford , Holden, , Aug. 26, at 1 p.m. officiated by Chaplain Michael Bailey. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Simpson A. Kemp; children, Gloria Gail Taylor Herbert, Donna Taylor Hano and husband, Glen, Virginia Jenny Taylor Bueche and husband, Wally, Donald Tad Taylor and wife, Patty, William Billy Taylor, and Richard Ricky Taylor; grandchildren, Larry Dean, Amy Dean Johnson, Channon Sanders Lucas, Jodey Sanders Acosta, Cheryl Bueche Easley, William Bueche, William Taylor, Derrick Taylor, Nicholas Taylor, Angeline Taylor, Chasity Taylor Smith, and Jessica Jones Bourgeois; 21 great-grandchildren; 8 great great-grandchildren; sister, Natalie Whitehead Picard; brother, Calvin Dub Whitehead; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Obituary: Jack Russell Kemp, longtime resident of Baton Rouge and native of Independence, passed away on , 3, 2015 at the age of 86. graduating from LSU, where he was in the ROTC, Jack served in the Air Force at the end of the Korean War. He worked 30 years at Davis Wholesale Drug where he helped distribute the Salk Polio vaccine. He loved his family dearly and was so proud of his grandchildren. Jack will be forever remembered for his gourmet cooking, his love of entertaining, the stories and terrible jokes he told, and for being a connoisseur of puns. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilford and Athalee Kemp, and son, James Jim Kemp. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margie Kemp; son, Stephen Paul Kemp and his wife Prudence; daughters, Kathi Lee Kemp, and Sherry Flynn and her husband Brian; grandchildren, Marco Tejeda-Kemp, Richard Kemp, and Elizabeth Collier; sister, Betty Kemp Bergeron; nephews, Scott and Matt Bergeron; and 2 furry kids, Odie and Lacey. Visitation will be at Greenoaks on , 5th from 8:00 am until the Service at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Obituary: Duncan Stuart Kemp, III, 74, passed away on 13, 2015 at his home in Hammond, La. Duncan was born on 15, 1940 in Baton Rouge, La. to Mary Belle Reid Kemp and Duncan Stuart Kemp, Jr and grew up in Amite, La. He graduated from Amite High School in 1958 and continued his education at Louisiana State University where he earned an undergraduate degree in 1965 in Government and was a member of the Louisiana Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He later received a Juris Doctorate at the LSU Law School (now called the Paul M. Hebert Law ) in 1966 after which time he served in the Louisiana Army National Guard. Duncan worked as the Prosecutor for the City of Hammond from 1971 to 1978 and was elected to and served as the District Attorney for the 21st Judicial District Court in Louisiana serving Tangipahoa, Livingston, and St. Helena Parishes for 18 years, from 1979 to 1996. Duncan was a licensed attorney and practiced law in Louisiana for 47 years. He served in many capacities with the Louisiana District Attorneys Association including president and vice president. He also served on the board of directors for the National District Attorneys Association. Duncan was a member of the Judicial Council of the Louisiana Supreme Court and was a past president of the Florida Parishes Inns of Court. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching LSU football, fishing, hunting, cooking, beekeeping, gardening, reading history and fiction, and traveling. Duncan is survived by his wife, Cathy Arnold Kemp; his five children, Mary Heather Kemp, Duncan Stuart Kemp, IV (Jessica), Jonathan Hunter Reid Kemp ( ), Carly Kemp Peterson (Murray) and Eva Grace Kemp-Melder (Joshua); his six grandchildren, Ellison Kemp Travis, Reid Worthy Travis, Clara McKelvie Kemp, George Robert Peterson, Grant Samuel Peterson, and Grace Hunter Kemp; his sister, Neville Kemp Remmert (Bruce); and his nephew, Christian Edward Kemp Remmert (Kimberly). He is proceeded in death by his parents, Mary Belle Reid Kemp and Duncan Stuart Kemp, Jr.; and his niece, Katherine Neville Remmert Floyd. A visitation will be held on , 16, 2015 at Harry McKneely and Son in Hammond from 8:30 am until funeral service at 11:30 am. The burial service will follow at the Amite .
