Obituary: William Aubrey Bill Knott, 90, of the Carmel , formerly of 2710 W. 5th. St., Owensboro, passed away on , 15, 2010 at Owensboro Medical System. He was born on 21, 1919 in Daviess Co. to the late William Henry and Mary Alma Grant Knott. He was retired from the General Electric Co. and was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral and the St Vincent DePaul Society. Bill was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Goldie Mae Moore Knott on Jan. 23, 2006, two brothers, Jimmy and Louis Knott, and three sisters, Della Mae Kerrick, Margaret Roberts, and Ginny Hines. Surviving are his son Billy Martin Knott and wife LaVonne, their son Robert and wife Christina and their two sons Jodi Knott and Rhett Knott and daughter Cierra Knott, all of Owensboro, his daughter Rebecca Ann Burch and husband Victor of Palestine, TX, her daughters Vicky Knoblock and husband Mark of Humble, TX, her son Chip Thompson of Tyler, TX and daughter Dawn Thompson of Houston, TX, Cindy Wood and husband Norris of Elkhart, TX, their son Matt Wood and daughter Barbara Wood, both of Elkhart, Barbara Coy and husband Rodney of Palestine, and her son Dylan Coy and daughter Katy Coy of Palestine, and her son James Burch and his son James Garrett Burch, both of Palestine, six great great grandchildren, a brother Raphael Martin Knott of Hawaii, a sister Louella Farmer of Oakland, CA, and several nieces and nephews. Obituary: Sister Mary Louise Knott, 84, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, died , May 3, 2014 at Mount Saint Joseph, in her 53rd year of religious life. She was a native of Browns Valley. Sister Mary Louise was a teacher and a parish minister, but was best known in recent years for her wonderful sewing creations. There was always a snowman or a Raggedy Ann doll to brighten someones world that grew from her imagination. She was a teacher at St. Peter of Alcantara, Stanley (1951-52), St. William, Knottsville (1965-66) and St. Martin, Rome (1977-78). She was parish minister at St. Joseph Catholic , Greenville (1994-95). She ministered at Maple Mount in the infirmary (1971-74, 1976-77), in the craft room (1992-94, 2003-05, 2006-13) and in hospitality at the Retreat (1993-94, 1998-2002). In 2007-08 she served as a sewing teacher and in a clinic in Jamaica. She also ministered elsewhere in the Diocese of Owensboro, in Louisville, Missouri and Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents, Proctor and Mary Florence Thompson Knott; her brother Charles Knott; her sister Marilyn Cabalier and infant sister Angela Knott. Survivors include five sisters, Alma (J. Richard) Gaw and Roberta Knott, Owensboro; Dottie (Larry) Elder, Sorgho; Rosita Libs, Evansville, Ind., and Kathleen (Mike) Boldrick, Santa Maria, Calif.; three brothers, Martin (Louise) Knott and Walter (Margaret) Knott, both of Owensboro, and Paul Knott, Miamisburg, Ohio; nieces and nephews and the members of her religious community. The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. , at Mount Saint Joseph, where visitation will begin at 4 p.m., with a wake service following at 6:30 p.m. Glenn and Crematory, Owensboro, is in charge of arrangements. Obituary: Maple Mount Sister Mary Mercedes Knott, 90, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, died Feb. 21, 2013 at Mount Saint Joseph, in her 65th year of religious life. She was born in Knottsville, while she was a child, the family moved to Wilhelmina, Mo., where she grew up. A gifted homemaker, Sister Mary Mercedes was a quiet person known for the many kindnesses she showed, and her devotion to Mary. She served in the diet kitchen at Mount Saint Joseph (1951-57, 1964-65, and 1975-81), and part of that time was diet kitchen director. She also served at St. Stephen Cathedral Convent, Owensboro (1981-86) and at St. Angela Convent, Louisville (1986-94, 1998-2005). She ministered elsewhere in Kentucky, Nebraska and New Mexico. Survivors include three sisters, Mary Frances Smith, Boone, N.C., Mabel Eloise Macke, St. Paul, Mo., and Margaret Aurelia Brown, Arnold, Mo.; two brothers, Charles C. Knott, Arnold, Mo., and James Patrick Knott, Imperial, Mo.; nieces and nephews, and the members of her religious community. Obituary: Teresa Carolyn Knott, 71, of Knottsville, passed away 25, 2015. She was born 29, 1943 in Sorgho, to the late Rom and Rosalie Knott. Carolyn enjoyed watching sports, especially her favorite teams, UK and the Dallas Cowboys. When she was younger, she worked at Pinocchios and The Opportunity . Carolyn had a great memory and made sure to call her siblings on a daily basis. She never met a stranger and was one to always have her arms open for a hug. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Knott and M.R. Knott Jr.; and sisters, Lucille Hayden, Helen Woodward, and Jane Konrad. Survivors include brothers, Paul Knott (Dorothy), J.C. Knott (Barbara); sisters, Dorothy Calhoun (Jim), Mary Ruth Cecil, Imogene Blakeley (Joe); brother-in-law, Rudy Woodward, and numerous nieces and nephews. Obituary: Jean Harrison Knopf, 80, of Louisville, passed away , 13, 2010. Jean was born on Valentines Day 1930, the only child of the late Flora Elsie Petway Harrison and Clarence William Harrison. She was a 1948 graduate of Anchorage High School and attended the former Bryant-Stratton of Business. Jean was an accomplished saddlebred horse rider. And, at the 1946 Kentucky State Fair Horse Show, at age 16, she won the Equitation-The Good Hands Championship Class (after placing second the year before). Jean won over 75 Blue Ribbons in horse show classes at Rock Creek, Shelbyville, Lexington, the Kentucky State Fair and others. At age 18, while working as an outrider at Brentlawn Raceway, the former trotting track, Jean met her future husband John L. Knopf, Sr., a young law student working part-time as a track timer. marriage, Jean worked for Eastern Airlines at the airport as a secretary. While her husband built his successful law practice, Jean fully devoted herself to raising and lovingly shaping the lives of their three children. Jean was a gifted and accomplished artist of beautiful oil paintings, especially those of horses and flowers. She enjoyed playing golf at Wildwood Country Club and The Landings (Ft. Myers, FL), where she was a member. She also was a life-long antique collector and was co-owner of the antique store Old & New 1052. Jean enjoyed travel and was a sport fan of the University of Louisville. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her family. Jean is survived by her son John L. Knopf, Jr. (Carole) (Jupiter, FL), granddaughters Samantha & Celeste (Brooklyn, NY); her son Judge William L. Knopf (Ret.) (Shelly), grandchildren Lauren, Natalie, & Evan and step-grand children Taylor & Trevor ; and her daughter Linda L. Knopf, grandson Michael. The funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m., , 16th, at St. Frances of Rome Church, 2119 Payne St. with burial at Cave Hill . Visitation is 2-8 p.m., , at Arch L. Heady-Cralle , 2428 Frankfort Avenue. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Alzheimers Association and the Equine Program at Boys and Girls Haven. | ||||||||||
