Obituary: Raymond Ralph Koski was born on 23, 1938, to Ralph and Georgia (Stilson) Koski in Dunlap, Iowa. He grew up in the Dunlap area and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1957. Ray then attended Simpson for two years. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was in Korea and specialized as a rifle sharpshooter, carbine expert and missile man. A back injury in the military led him to pursue his lifelong career in chiropractic care. He graduated from the National of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois. Ray married Janice DeForest of Woodbine on May 14, 1966. Doc Koski, as he was know by many, had a chiropractic practice locally for 40 years. He gained great satisfaction through the help he gave his patients over the years. He and Jan worked side by side daily for decades until retiring in 2010. Ray was a member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church. He enjoyed prairie dog hunting, trap shooting, and tractor pulling. Most of all he enjoyed his family. Ray died on , 4, 2016, at his home in Dunlap at the age of 77 years and 12 days. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rochelle Gottsch. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jan Koski of Dunlap, Iowa; three children, Sheldon Koski and his wife Deb and their children Preston and Keaton all of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Vickie Koski of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Matt Koski and his wife Amy and their son Brody all of Dunlap, Iowa; brother, Rolly Ted Koski and his wife Kae of Wilmore, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Donald Gottsch of Westside, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. |
