Obituary: South Bend - Richard A. Klosowski, 67, of South Bend, passed away on 26, 2014 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born on 3, 1946, in South Bend, to Anthony and Mary Klosowski. On 24, 1970 he married Rose Jelinski, who survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Rebecca Klosowski of Goshen and Katie (Jeremy) Wirebaugh of South Bend; his son, Anthony Klosowski of South Bend; a grandson, Ian Klosowski; and by his father, Anthony (Cecilia) Klosowski of South Bend. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kole and his mother, Mary. Richard retired in 2004 from the South Bend Police Department, where he served for 33 1/2 years as a Police Officer. He was a United States Navy Vietnam Veteran, a member of the VFW Post #385 and the American Legion Post #284, the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. Richard was a freshmen football coach at St. Joseph High School in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He enjoyed fishing and going on fishing trips. People knew him by his nickname Bear. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm 28, 2014, in the Kaniewski , 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am 29, 2014 in Holy Family Catholic Church, South Bend. Military honors will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Wounded Warrior Fund. The family would like to thank Dr. Luke White, the ICU and 7 East Staff at Memorial Hospital for their loving care. |

On 12, 1989, Cecilia married Anthony Klosowski, who survives. Along with her loving husband, Cecilia is survived by one granddaughter, Jessica (Strominski) Larivee of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, along with 5 great-grandchildren. Along with her deceased parents, she had one son who preceded her in death, Patrick Strominski and a step son, Richard A. Klosowski. Cecilia is also survived by a step daughter-in-law, Rosemary Klosowski; a step grandson, Anthony (Tony) Klosowski of South Bend; two step granddaughters, Rebecca Klosowski of Goshen and Katie (Jeremy) Wirebaugh; and a step great-grandson all of South Bend. Also surviving is her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Elaine Walkowiak of South Bend. Cecilia retired from the University of Notre Dame where she worked in the administration office. Cremation has taken place. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on , May 11, at 10:00 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in South Bend. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Cecilia enjoyed playing euchre, cookouts, word searches, and spending time with her family. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Michael was born on 31, 1954 in South Bend to Leonard and Shirley (Piasecki) Klosinski, and was a lifelong resident. He had been employed for the last eleven years as the Director of St. Michaels Laundry at the University of Notre Dame. On 16, 1978, in South Bend, he married Kathleen A. Werwas, who survives. Also surviving are his two sons, Jacob (Emily) Klosinski and Josh (Lacie) Klosinski both of South Bend, Indiana; three grandchildren, Jason, Callen, and Victoria Klosinski; his mother, Shirley A. Klosinski of South Bend; and his sister, Eva Marie (Ronald) Kocsis of South Bend. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Klosinski on 17, 1998. Services will take place at 10:00 a.m., , 14, 2015 in the Kaniewski , 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph . He had been a coach for the Washington High School and St. Joseph High School Hockey Teams. He had also coached football and wrestling for the ICCL.
