Obituary: George A. Krzesinski was a modest man, quiet and observant in his ways. He was trustworthy and traditional in his approach to his life and in his relationships. He was tough-minded with the kind of stick to it attitude that earned the respect of all who knew him. He was also a man who was meticulous, carefully disciplined, and orderly in virtually everything he undertook. Realistic about life, he was always ready to take on responsibility. George was born on 19, 1951 at Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. His parents were Bruno and Halina Krzesinski. George was raised near Midway Airport in Chicago. He was brought up to be self-confident and dependable. These were traits that would serve him well throughout his life. Growing up in the Krzesinski household was a bit different than most homes. There were good times to be had along with the challenges of a newly immigrated family from Poland. George was raised with three younger brothers: Dan, Tom, and Jack. George was constantly involved in activities with his brothers. George and his siblings may have had the typical rivalries while growing up but George was always consistently loyal to his family. While his teachers and even his friends generally thought of George as being a serious person, he managed to have a pretty good time in high school as he made that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from St. Lawrence High School in 1969. George was a very logical person who enjoyed learning about factual information. Using his exceptional memory, he was able to learn much through observation. George always seemed to have a command of the facts and was able to make it seem as though he could easily master any problem that might be presented to him. Always considered to be a solid friend, George was fortunate to have numerous acquaintances and several very close friends during his life. It was not uncommon for George to go beyond the call of duty for others, and friends frequently sought him out for advice because he had a knack for coming up with practical solutions to any type of dilemma. On 21, 1971 George exchanged wedding vows with Janice Piotrowski at the Five Holy Martyrs Catholic Church in Chicago, Illinois. Compassionate and devoted to Janice, George held endearing, traditional values about marriage and family life. He took the responsibility of marriage to heart, giving it his total commitment. He was a source of strength to Janice and using his gifts at nurturing one-on-one relationships, he worked hard to make his new family happy. As a father, George brought the same traditional values into the lives of his children. He would always listen carefully and think things through before he acted, even when it was an adverse situation. George was also a walking schedule, always seeming to know what everyone in the family needed to do, where they needed to be and when they needed to be there. George was blessed with two sons, Paul and Alan. George greatly enjoyed what he did for a living. He was a hard worker who expected the same in return from his co-workers. George enjoyed dealing with concrete ideas and could penetrate any amount of fuzzy information to reach the essential facts. At the OSI Group he started as a Corporate Staff Accountant and was promoted to the title of Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer over 29 years. He obtained the professional distinction of CPA and was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. His favorite hobbies were fishing, camping, hiking, and reading. George was content to enjoy his hobbies alone but was also willing to share his interests with others. George found pleasure in some sports, especially running in his later years. He participated in many 5K and 10K races, but as with most other aspects of his life, wanted to achieve more. He finished the Grandmas Marathon in Duluth and the Chicago Marathon. George did not want any accolades or awards for any of his achievements, athletic or otherwise. Being a marathon finisher gave him a deep sense of accomplishment. George was a man who was dedicated and devoted to his faith. He was a member St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. He was a sympathetic man who valued his beliefs and was willing to work tirelessly for them. He also valued nature and the beauty of the outdoors. Favorite vacations included fishing trips to Moose Lake in Hayward, Wisconsin, the Menominee River, and Canada. He also maintained fond memories of trips to Montana and the Southwest where he explored the natural history and took in the scenery. When Georges retirement finally arrived on 30, 2008, he was well prepared. He had begun the process early and had his retirement planned well in advance. In retirement, he found new pleasure in the simple things, such as a cup of coffee, good conversation, reading, and more fishing. Even in retirement, George continued to stay in touch with his old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. He was active in his new community and felt fulfilled. George A. Krzesinski passed away on 22, 2010 at Edwards Hospital, Naperville, Illinois. George fought a brave battle against lung cancer. He is survived by wife Janice and two sons, Paul and Alan. Visitation , 27, 2010 3-8 pm at the Blake-Lamb , 5015 Lincoln Ave., Lisle, Illinois (On Rt53, 1/2 mile south of Ogden Ave./ Rt34) where funeral services will begin 9:15 am and proceed to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Naperville, Illinois, Mass 10:00 am. George was laid to rest in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum, Justice, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Masses may be offered.
