Obituary: Mr. Clarence E. Knowlton, 92, died evening ( 23, 2015) at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native of Pierce , but he has lived most of his life in Ware where he worked as a farmer. As a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran and self-employed farmer, he was awarded Ware Master Farmer and was a longtime volunteer and supporter of Ware 4-H. Along with being a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church, Mr. Knowlton was a 50 year member of Hasan Shrine of Albany and Waycross Masonic Lodge #305. He is the son of the late Lem Knowlton and Lillie Johnson Knowlton and the last of 10 siblings. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Drusilla Smith Knowlton of Waycross; two daughters, Chub Charles (Lynn) of Valdosta, and Sally Roberts of Waycross; one son, Eddie Knowlton (Sandra) of LaGrange; seven grandchildren, Beth Lind (Jeff), Britta Mink (Derek Pickup), Sam Roberts (Rhonda), Sarah Hernandez, Rebecca Roberts, Brent Knowlton (Melinda), and Peyton Knowlton; six great grandchildren, Andrew Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Austin Roberts, Aiden Roberts, Cameron Hernandez and Isabella Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. ( 26, 2015) at the Music Chapel. The family will receive friends 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice House Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, GA 31501, or Jamestown United Methodist Church, 2055 Vann Rd, Waycross, GA 31503.
