Obituary: Reba Ann Knight, 88, went to be with the Lord, peacefully, on May 21, 2017 while at her residence. Ms. Knight was born in Griffin on 27, 1928, the only daughter of the late James L. Knight and Anna Bell Knight. She attended North Side elementary school and graduated from Griffin High School, class of 1946. Her working career included 68 years service with the former Commercial Bank and Trust and United Bank of Griffin where she was known as the Sweet Heart of Customer Service. Reba was a former member of Kincaid United Methodist Church and a longtime member of Griffin First United Methodist Church where she served on various committees throughout the years. She was a member of the Joy School class, where she served as president for several years, member of the Board of Stewards, the Finance Committee, school superintendent, member of the United Methodist Women and the Guild Circle, and enjoyed being a Church Greeter for many years. Reba was a longtime volunteer for the Griffin Food Pantry as well as the Free Medical Clinic. In addition to her loving parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James L. (Bill) Knight Jr. and Thomas Larry Knight. Her brother, Dr. Robert E. Knight and sister-in-law, Brenda D. Knight of Columbia, South Carolina, and sister Ms. Minnie Reid of Griffin survive her as well as her nephew Thomas L. Knight, Jr. of Atlanta and Martha Sue Barksdale of Jonesboro. services for Ms. Knight will be held at Griffin First United Methodist Church at 2 p.m., , May 25, 2017. Ms. Knight will lie in state in the church one hour before the service and friends may visit the family prior to the service at 1 p.m. in the Welcome at Griffin First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow the service in Oak Hill in Griffin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Griffin First United Methodist Church or to the Spalding Humane Society: Dog and Cat Rescue and Adoptions, Griffin, Georgia. Obituary: Mrs. Myrtle Allison Knight, 84, of LaGrange, GA passed away , 19, 2015 at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Knight was born 26, 1931 in LaGrange, GA, daughter of the late John E. Langford and Carrie Bell Simmons Langford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Fred Allison and Harold Knight, son, Douglas Allison, sister, Mary Manning Brown, and brother, John E. Langford, Jr. The family would like to acknowledge two of Mrs. Knights sons, Raymond Allison and Alan Allison, for their dedication and love in caring for her daily. Survivors include her children, Sherlyn Barfield of Atlanta, GA, Gail (Jim) Booraem of Lilburn, GA, Janet Allison of Atlanta, GA, Ervin (Debbie) Allison of Stockbridge, GA, Ken (Wanda) Allison of Stockbridge, GA, Raymond Allison of LaGrange, GA, and Alan Allison of LaGrange, GA; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara Langford of Mobile, AL; brother-in-law, Tony Brown of LaGrange, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. services will be held 2:00 P.M. , 23, 2015 at Dallas-Dodd Presbyterian Church with Reverend Meg Jackson Clarke and Reverend Max McCord officiating.
