Obituary: Irene Jeffcoat, 92 of Palm Harbor FL, died at her home on 30, 2015. She was born 19, 1923 in Providence, RI, to John and Peggy McGuiness. She is predeceased by her husband of 67 years Robert Warren Jeffcoat from a, GA. Irene graduated from St Xaviers Academy, Providence, RI and started a dancing career at a young age influenced by her father and uncle who had a Ballroom Dance . She was an accomplished dancer and received numerous awards and accomplishments throughout her teenage years. She married and followed her husband throughout his career in the Navy until settling in Vernon, CT. She worked for 10 years at Pratt & Whitney before retiring to Palm Harbor, Florida. She is survived by her daughter Carol Ann Garretson and son in law Gary Garretson from Carriere, MS, daughter Marguerite Yager from Palm Harbor, FL, daughter Susan Richards and son in law Jim Richards from Savannah, GA, daughter Rose Marie Frazier from Shanghai, China, son David Jeffcoat and daughter in law Stephanie Jeffcoat from Tolland, CT and son John Jeffcoat preceded her in death. Also surviving are her six grandchildren Lisa Frazier, Kristian Richards, Emily Richards, Zak Yager, Isaiah Frazier and Eric Jeffcoat; four great-grandchildren Natalie Richards, Jack Richards, Colton Frazier and Aislyn Frazier. She leaves a niece Henriann (Jeffcoat) Walpole from a, GA and many second cousins from the Rhode Island area. She leaves many dear friends, wonderful caretakers and doctors that kept her here as long as her body was able. Irene was kind to all and loved by many. She enjoyed dancing and live entertainment, good food and conversation, makeup and jewelry, playing cards, telling a joke, listening to live music and playing her spoons. She noticed details and loved to compliment you; she could watch CNN all day and adored Anderson Cooper, George Clooney, Dancing with The Stars and old movies. She had a sharp wit and liked talking politics (especially about those Republicans) and could remember names of actors, singers and politicians that no one else could. services will be at Unity of St Petersburg, Florida at 6168 1st Ave N St Petersburg, Florida at 10:30 AM. Coffee and refreshments will be served followed by laying her to rest with her husband Robert at Bay Pines National , 10000 Bay Pines Blvd, St Petersburg, FL at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers please donate to a Hospice in your area. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice of Palm Harbor and to our sister Marguerite Yager for her years of caretaking and our sister Rose Marie Frazier for allowing her to live out her days at home.
