Obituary: Richard L. Jacques AGE: 96 • Formerly of Spring Lake Richard L. Jacques, age 96, of Madeira Beach, FL. and formerly of Spring Lake, died , 18, 2011, in Tampa, FL. Born and raised in Jersey City, he later resided in Irvington and Spring Lake before moving to Madeira Beach, Fl. in 1992. In his youth, he was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and later supervised parts manufacturing for the military during WWII. He worked for Haug Die Casting, Kenilworth, NJ for many years before his retirement in 1990. He was a parishioner of St. Josephs R.C. Church, Toms River. Mr. Jacques was a devoted and hard-working family man. He was predeceased by his wife Rose Duerscheidt Jacques, a son Richard Jacques Jr., and two brothers Frederick and Robert Jacques. He is survived by his son Robert Jacques and his wife Lois of Toms River and Madeira Beach, Fl., and his two daughters Mary Ann Dolan and her husband Robert of Toms River, and Dr. Patricia Jacques Emmanuel and her husband John of Tampa, Fl. He is also survived by eight loving grandchildren: Robert Jr. and Christopher Dolan, Kate Jacques Uniowski, Robert and Andrew Jacques and Jacqueline, William and Elizabeth Emmanuel. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren. Visiting will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Anderson & Campbell , 703 Main St. Toms River. A mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Richards life will be held , 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs R. C. Church, 685 Hooper Ave. Toms River. Entombment will follow at St. Catharine , Spring Lake. Marie was born in Haiti on 28, 1942, the 6th of 8 children to her parents Excellence and Maria Cassy. Her siblings are:Max Cassy, Ernest Cassy (Deceased), Lillian Cassy Duteau, Vivian Cassy Robinson (Deceased), Jeanine Cassy Poinvil (Deceased), Joel Cassy, and Paul Cassy.In 1961 after moving from Haiti Marie attended Gods Bible School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Marie was married on 29,1969 to Edgard Jacques in Brooklyn New York who she predeceases, along with her three children, Charlyne Jacques Genji (Sandra) and Jeffrey (Cherly). Marie had four grandchildren born to Jeffrey and Cherly: Jhailynn, Omar, Kenneth, and Aaron. She moved to South Florida where she studied Cosmetology and went on to open her own beauty salon, while building her business in real estate. She would continue her education by concluding her career as a CNA at John Knox Village.Marie (Jou-Jou) was a guiding light and a true example of a Proverbs 31, woman, She set the example of what a loving wife, mother, and friend should be. She would always do her best to be patient with all of her children and never hesitated to love and redirect.Marie Jacques was a kind, compassionate, humorous , godly woman who had a heart for Christ and a passion to help others.She was a woman who stood by her husband, sharing ideas with him for progress and preparation for their family.
