Obituary: JoAnn A. Judd Loving Mother and Grandmother It is hard to comprehend the many ways that Ada JoAnn Alexander Judd has touched our lives during her time on this earth. We were blessed to have her with us physically for 85 years and we know that we will have her with us eternally -- guiding, loving, and nurturing. We will forever thank our Heavenly Father for this great lady. She was born May 30, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah and left this earth on 24, 2017. JoAnn taught us to be kind to all of God's children -- as we watched her smile with ease at others during her happiest days as well as her most difficult days. JoAnn taught us that the family unit is a treasure, worth sacrificing for and giving our all to. She was a daughter to Rudger M. and Ada Louise Alexander who preceded her in death, a sister to Donald Ray Alexander, and a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. She taught us to serve others at every moment of everyday -- working tirelessly and optimistically to bring joy and comfort to all she came in contact with. Service made her happy. JoAnn taught us that we should be our best selves as she loved us all uniquely. (Every one of her 23 grandchildren insist they are her favorite!) She taught us to cherish our spouses as we watched her light up every time she looked at her beloved husband Big Jim (James Sevy Judd, Jr.) who also preceded her in death. Theirs is a true love story. She taught us to be strong and conscientious in everything we pursue. She taught us to enjoy our individual talents just as she enjoyed hers - sewing, crocheting, story-telling, and our favorite, cooking. She taught us to love the Savior Jesus Christ and the goodness of His teachings. Her children Steven (Holli), Ryan (Leslie), Craig (Denise), Ronald (Teresa), and Karen (Barry) are trying our best to embrace her lifetime of lessons - knowing however, that the impact of her life is incomprehensible. Viewing at McDougal , 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah, , 29, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and , 30, 2017, 10:00 - 10:45 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Bennion 6 th Ward Chapel - 5775 South 2700 West, Taylorsville, Utah. A Service will follow at the Chapel at 11:00 AM. Interment - Valley View Memorial Park. |

Obituary: Love you more, always have, always will. Together Again Karma Leoan Fickes Joyner Surrounded by the love of her family, Karma Joyner passed away , 10, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. She lived 73 wonderful years. She is survived by four children; Terri, Robyn (Gregory), Brent (Cheryl), Wally (Lesley), and daughter-in-law Carmen, two sisters; Senator Paula (Gene) Hawkins and Dr. Carole Wright. As well as, her beloved 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford M. Joyner, her son Crandon Neil Joyner, both of her parents, and a brother Llewellyn Fickes. Karma was born on Aug 22, 1935, in Newport, Rhode Island, to Paul Bert Fickes and Mary Leoan Staley Fickes. She spent most of her youth in Logan, Utah, and later moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she met her husband Clifford, whom she married May 7, 1954. Together they happily raised five children in Atlanta where they were devoted to their children, and doing all they could to build the gospel in Georgia. Karma had a contagious smile and magnetic personality. She has always made friends easily; which have remained great life-long friends. Anything Karma set her mind on, she accomplished. She was artistically and musically talented, and shared those talents with the world. Karma was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her most cherished callings were teaching music to Primary children, and sharing her love of the gospel as CES director and early morning seminary teacher for the youth in Atlanta, Georgia. From 2001 to 2003, Karma served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was called to serve in the Puerto Rico, San Juan Mission, ultimately serving in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Karma returned in 2003 with as much zeal as ever, and devoted herself to another mission in Family History. Her devotion to family and friends (whom she made to feel like family) will be missed, as no-one can do it like Karma. Even through her final battles, she never stopped putting others before herself. It was with great effort that she continued to share her love for family and love for the gospel through her fervent testimony through her last minutes on earth. We love you more, Grama! Always have, always will no-one says it quite like Karma. The family wishes to thank all those at Utah Valley Regional Medical for their never ending and Concern for our Mother through the years. Also, to those whom we just met, these last few weeks at the Berkshire Rehab and Comfort in Orem, and our new friends at Alpine Hospice. What a great experience you all provided in just this short sweet time! Well Done!!! services for Karma will be Dec. 15, 2008, at the Lindon 1st Ward Chapel, 56 East 600 North Lindon, Utah at 11 am.
