Obituary: Vera Jensen Jacobson, age 88 of Spring Lake, passed away , 31, 2009. She was born 17, 1920 in Goshen, Utah to Charles Moroni and Cora Hathaway Jensen. She married Clealon Wesley Jacobson, 14, 1938 in Spring Lake. He preceded her in death 6, 1993. Vera loved gardening, crocheting, reading and homemaking. She cherished the time spent with her family and had a gift of listening that brought many hours of comfort to her entire family. She was cared for in her later years by her kids and she was able to die peacefully in her home in Spring Lake. Survivors include: 5 children, Don (Karen) Jacobson, Spring Lake; Connie (LaMar) Openshaw, Santaquin; Kirk (Leslie) Jacobson, Spring Lake; Shanna (Larry) Davis, Castle Dale; Lynda Jacobson, Spring Lake; 22 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by: a daughter; three brothers; a grandson and a great-great-granddaughter. A memorial service will be held , 4, 2009, 11:00 a.m., at the Spring Lake LDS Chapel, 12625 Spring Lake Road. Obituary: Maurine Meservy Jacobson 15, 1922- 4, 2006 Maurine Meservy Jacobson died peacefully at her home on 4, 2006, of causes incident to age. She was born 15, 1922, in Provo, Utah, to Edward and Lucille Meservy. She was the oldest of six children. She attended Provo schools, graduating from Provo High School in 1940. She then studied to become a beautician and opened her own shop in Springville. She met Jeston Jacobson in the spring of 1945, and after their first date, they each knew they had met their future spouse. were married on 24, 1945, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. had nine children. She fully supported Jess in his various business and Church endeavors, and she discovered a real talent for bookkeeping along the way. She opened a Shaklee business in 1963. She loved helping people improve their lives, so this was more than just a business to her. She continued being involved in the business until the time of her death. She was a loving care giver to Jess as he suffered with dementia the last years of his life. He died on 22, 2001. In , 2002, she suffered a stroke which affected the left side of her body, but she continued being as active as possible in her business and charitable efforts. During the last several years she knitted almost 600 loom hats for the LDS Church Humanitarian Aid . She was a faithful member of the of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in every auxiliary organization as well as singing in the choir. One of her cherished experiences was the mission she and Jess served in Barbados in 1983-84. For years she sent birthday cards to every sister in her LDS ward, as well as to each of her descendants. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister Norma (Ron) Riding. She is survived by her brother Keith (Arlene) Meservy, sisters Ardis Rowley, Trudy (John) Nickerson and Naomi (John) Riding; her children Kathy, Karl (Carol), Kay (Larry) Hill, Laura, Nanci (Kenneth) McRaney, Reed, David (Jake), Gordon (Suzanne), and Brian. She is also survived by 37 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. The family would like to especially thank Laura for her years of devoted care and also all those from IHC Hospice who did so much to make her last months comfortable. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. , 8th, 2006, at the Timpview Ward Chapel, 2900 North 650 East, Provo. Family and friends may call evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Walker Sanderson , 646 East 800 North, Orem and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held in the Provo City . |
