Obituary: Services will be at 2 p.m. in Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Jeremy Pfeil of Kingdom Keys officiating. Arturo loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and going to Las Vegas to play the slot machines. He enjoyed reading books to pass his time. Arturo was known as Poppy to his grandchildren. Whenever the grandchildren called to talk to Poppy it was because they needed to be picked up from school or they wanted a ride somewhere. Arturo was always with family and friends for birthdays and holidays. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 11 years and also worked at Pantex for 15 years. He owned and operated Dunkin Donuts on Western Street for six years, and then he was self-employed until he retired in 1999. Arturo was very loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Juanita Jurado; and a son, Arturo Jurado II. Survivors include his wife of almost 55 years, Iris Jurado; three daughters, Cynthia Jurado Rushing and Tammy Jurado Estes, both of Amarillo, and Kathy Jurado Solis of Dallas; a stepdaughter, Teresa Schult of Louisville, Ky.; four granddaughters, Sephra Stephenson and husband Russell of San Antonio, Mika Paredes and KaCee Solis, both of Portland, Ore., and Jentry Jurado of Amarillo; two grandsons, Seth Paredes of the U.S. Coast Guard in Astoria, Ore., and Ethan Solis of Dallas; and two stepgrandsons, Joseph Schult of Louisville and Joshua Schult of Knoxville, Tenn.; and a great-granddaughter, Bella Stephenson of San Antonio. |

Obituary: Mary Frances McNamara Juppe, 56, passed away 1, 2014 in Houston, Texas. She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on 4, 1958. The second child of Doris Gleacious and William James McNamara both of Jersey City. She graduated St. Michael's High School in Jersey City in 1976. graduation, she moved to Middletown, New Jersey and married Herbert L. Juppe III on 23, 1983. Mary was Senior Sales Director of Mary Kay Cosmetics in Houston, Texas for the past 10 years and sales rep for the past 21 years. For many years Mary has been involved with children, they were the loves of her life. Mary raised seven foster children and successfully returned them to their parents. Mary had a passion for all sports, especially bowling. One of her greatest joys was to watch and cheer on her favorite teams like the Houston Rockets, Astros and Texans. Mary is survived by her husband of 31 years, Herbert Juppe; son H.L. Juppe and daughters Marita Juppe and Kelly Begnaud; brother William McNamara and Judy Casselman. Mary will surely be missed by her family and friends. She has brought laughter and joy to all who knew her. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer in Houston, Texas for a gift that will continue giving. |
