Obituary: Joseph Borowski, Jr. age 63, passed away on 17, 2017, surrounded by family and friends after a brief, hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Joe was born on 2, 1953, in Pittsburgh, PA and was a staunch Steelers fan. He shared this love of the Steelers with his sons, attending several annual Steelers and Penguin games.

graduation Joe joined the US Navy. his time in the Navy Joe travelled some before eventually settling at Lake Travis outside Austin, TX. This is where he met Amy, his wife of 35 years. have two sons, Dusty and Jake that he loved deeply and was very proud of and the adults they have become.
Joe was a devoted family man. He was very involved with his sons as they grew up. Joe attended all the school functions that he could. He coached them in all sports until they started playing school sports and then he was their biggest fan. As a coach, he made some lasting friendships with some of the boys as they grew to adults. were always inviting him to play golf or poker.

Joe loved God, his family and friends. He loved to golf, travel and get together with friends and combined these loves quite often. He had a very tight knit group of friends that grew into a pack of friends.

Joe worked at the Lakeway Co .and US Television Systems before starting work at The Texas Legislative Council in 1989. He retired from the Council in 2009. He made lifelong friends from all his employments, especially the Council. He worked on the floor during legislative sessions and, once retired, he went back and worked for two more sessions until moving to the Hill Country in 2015, which made the trip to Austin more than he wanted to make in his retirement.
Being a people person and an avid golfer, Joe was not able to sit idle too long so he took a part-time job at Horseshoe Bay Resorts as a course marshal/starter where he was able to enjoy both. A highlight of his golf career (other than his hole in one) was that he, his brother in law Olen (aka Partner), his nephew Chris (aka backup Partner) along with two others qualified to represent the Clubs of Lakeway at Pinehurst where he had the experience of a lifetime. Joe was always looking for a game.

Joe and Amy built a home in Round Mountain in 2015. It is in the hill country and all that Joe wanted. He was very happy here surrounded by great, Christian neighbors. He felt like God lead him to this place. The neighbors were very supportive once Joe was diagnosed, bringing him food, taking him to chemo and constant prayer.

Joe lived a full and happy life that is hard to condense into one page. He was so much more than all of this and he will be profoundly missed!

The family would like to thank his doctors: Dr. McKenzie, Dr. Cline & Dr. Srygley as well as the staff at Texas Oncology Marble Falls and his chemo nurses Elaine and Elsa. would also like to thank the staff at St. Davids South Austin, especially 2nd floor ICU.

Joe is survived by his wife Amy, sons Dusty and Jake, mother Alice Seguin, sisters Marcie Borowski, Donna Werle (Joe), Jackie Davis (Brian), Karin Scarfo (Jim) and brother Kirt Fielosh (Heidi), sister in law Cheryl Jones and brother in laws Olen Wardlaw and Andy Wardlaw, his aunts Aunt Babe and Aunt Netta, nieces and nephews Shawn Scarsella (Heidi), Melissa Byers (Eddie), Amber Hammond (Chris), Jamie Lowell (Ken), Krissy Scarfo (Jake), Zachary Fielosh, Chris Wardlaw (Rynda), Jeff Wardlaw (Zofya) Becca Wardlaw (Shane), Cory Finnell, Jessica Jones, Andrea Toupin (Tom), his cousins and several great nieces and great nephews, all his friends and last but not least his faithful companion Dakota.

Joe was preceded in death by his father Joseph Borowski, Sr., sisters Victoria and Kim Ann and niece Samantha.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., , 27, 2017, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks . A Celebration of Joes Life will be at 1:00 P.M., , 28, 2017, in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks with Pastor Jimmy Roquemore officiating.
