Obituary: Terrance (Terry) Lee Jennings, 55, passed from this life on , 19, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bruce Jennings, and his dear friend and companion, Judith M. Saunders. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, 20, 1954, and was the fifth child of William and Florence Jennings. Terry was a graduate of the University of Texas, San Antonio, where he received a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. Terry was also an aviation enthusiast, working toward his FAA Private Pilots license. Obituary: Stephen Ray Jennings, 57, a loving husband, father, son, brother, friend, entrepreneur, inventor, golfer, poet, punster, and truly a man after God's own heart, passed on to glory after a lengthy battle with cancer on 4, 2015, surrounded by his adoring wife, Susan, and his family. : 2 p.m. at Legacy Church of Christ, 8801 Midcities Blvd., North Richland Hills. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: All are encouraged to gather and share memories 4 to 6 p.m . in the Narthex and Chapel of Bluebonnet Hills . Steve graduated from Fort Worth Christian School in 1975, where he was quarterback and Mr. FWC. Upon Steve's graduation, he wrote in Susan's 8th grade FWC annual, "You're a cute little girl...see ya later!" Little did they know, "see ya later" would be 37 years down the road, at their wedding. high school, Steve attended Oklahoma Christian University and Harding University before returning to Fort Worth to become a bricklayer. By 1980, he started Jennings Masonry, and eventually would found or co-found several masonry and concrete enterprises, including Jennings Contractors, Brick Doctor, Jennings Wall Systems, Concreations, and Advanced Wall Systems. His projects dot North Texas and Oklahoma and include over 150 miles of masonry screening walls, retaining walls, and entry features of residential subdivisions. He loved creating new designs and involving others in his inventions. He also held two patents related to masonry wall systems. Steve's love of golf and friends took him back to the tee box weekly, where he was often accused of swinging so hard he'd "come out of his shoes." Steve led a colorful life and loved to involve himself in his children's interests. He enjoyed reading to Susan's preschool kids in character, making them laugh and smile. Steve's intense love for Susan and for his children was relentless, and Susan's children quickly became very dear to him as well. While truly a "son of thunder," Steve's faith, his tender heart, and his capacity to love defined him and only grew during his fight with cancer. His wit and sense of humor never left him. Survivors include Steve's devoted wife, Susan Jennings; his children, Jessica, Alyssa, Duke, and Jacob Jennings; Susan's children, Mallory, Kristin, and Trey Wood; mother, Ellen Jennings; father, Alvin Jennings; sisters, Bonnie Bell (Norman) and Beth Cope (John); brothers Mark Jennings (Cheryl) and James Jennings (Lisa); sister-in-law, Patty Holcombe-Law; brother-in-law Jim Holcombe (Debbie); aunts, Donna Bolton (David), Mary Jennings, Ruby Olson (Roger), Betty Whittaker (Mike), and Marie Pennock; uncles, Dr. Duke Jennings (Sanet) and Dr. Richard Kristianson (Joyce); numerous nieces and nephews; cousins, and a host of friends. |

Obituary: Sarah Elizabeth Jennings, known to most as Sally, brought excellence to all of her pursuits. From motherhood to grandmotherhood, from spirituality to genealogy: whether writing a thank-you note, preparing for a family event, or researching someones family history, Sally pursued these endeavors with zeal and perfection, passion and precision. Sally was born on 12, 1941, in Luling, Texas, the youngest of three children to Helen and James Jennings. When she was seven years old, her father packed his family and all of their belongings into two trucks and drove to a 40-acre property west of South Fork, Colorado. Sally, along with her older brother and sister (James Jennings and Joy Pierce), helped to construct the ranchs log cabins and run the tourist business called Moon Valley Ranch, which still exists today. Sally led customers on horseback tours through the Weminuche Wilderness. Later in life, she would share her memories of growing up in the harsh Colorado winters, such as ice on the inside of windows and taking turns standing over the heating vent. Sally attended Del Norte High School and graduated at the top of her class of 35 students in 1959, before attending Colorado State University and obtaining a degree in education with a summa cum laude distinction. She was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. marrying Gregory Mike Aden, Sally eventually found herself back in Texas, raising her three children (Jarrod, John and Joy Aden) on Shady Grove, near an old mill pond in Piney Point Village of Houston. Her children will always appreciate the opportunities and guidance their mother gave them while growing up in such a loving and supportive environment. Sally always actively took pleasure and pride in her childrens activities and accomplishments. A deeply spiritual person, Sally was a regular attendee, supporter, and volunteer at Memorial Drive Presbyterian church. Sally worked for Santa Fe Energy Resources as an analyst and retired after approximately 25 years of service there. But it will be perhaps her work in retirement that she may be truly remembered. Sally was an avid genealogist. Using her meticulous and perfectionist qualities, Sally conducted extensive research of many branches of her and her childrens family histories. Consequently, Sally was able to obtain membership for her grandchildren (Mackenzie and Chase Aden, Ryan and Josh Galaviz, and Desmond Graham-Aden) into the Children of the Republic of Texas. And through her generosity and passion, Sally was able to help many others, in and out of the extended family, to find their ancestors and achieve membership in the Sons and Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Sally was a member of the Moon-McGehee Chapter (in San Marcos) of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and served as the chapter president before she became ill with cancer. Sally was also a very active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (Ol Shavano Chapter) and the United Daughters of the Confederacy (Albert Sidney Johnson Chapter). In addition to her passion for genealogy, Sally also loved opera, playing board games with her family, watching PBS series, and visiting with her grandkids. Holidays at Sallys house were very memorable, where Grandma would pass down family traditions like scrambled eggs on Christmas Eve and grinching the stockings and Christmas tree. Sarah Elizabeth Jennings passed away on , 19, after complications from Hodgkins lymphoma. Thankfully, her daughter, Joy, was at her side as she passed peacefully. Even though Sally will be greatly missed, her children and grandchildren will always be thankful for Sallys examples of love, compassion, and hard work. Her children agree that Sallys gentle qualities live on in their own kids. Sally will be interred at Humphreys outside of Martindale, Texas, to rest near her parents and ancestors. Sally is survived by her siblings, her children, and their families. In lieu of flowers, Sally had requested that donations be made to the building fund at her San Antonio spiritual home at Covenant Presbyterian Church (www.covenantcares.org). under the direction of Sunset North , San Antonio, TX. |
