Obituary: James E. Jackowski, 71, passed away suddenly on , 11, 2014 at home. James was born in Chicago, Illinois 18, 1943 to Ed and Estelle Jackowski and attended Holy Trinity High School also in Chicago, Illinois. He was a graduate of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Engineering and received his MBA from of Lake Forest. James had an amazing career in manufacturing for over 30 years, which spanned multiple states. He ended his career retiring from Tucker Housewares in Arlington Texas. But James was also an accomplished businessman serving on the board for the Harvard Credit Union in Harvard, Illinois, and running many other business ventures most recently running his own real estate business in Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Edmund Jackowski; mother, Estelle Jackowski; and brother, Jerry Jackowski, who he now has gone to join. He leaves behind his loving wife, of 21 years, Jaclyn A Miller; daughter, Robin Kinkelaar and husband Jim and grandson, Jack Nicklaus; son, Matthew Jackowski and wife, Julie, and grandsons, Ryan Matthew and Collin James. His brother, Ron Jackowski and wife Mary; his sister, Marilyn Sallee and husband Larry; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces in Chicago and extended family in Springfield Ohio. James always enjoyed his time with his family and vacations traveling. Especially the time he had with his grandchildren and “ night dates” with his wife. He will be dearly missed. A visitation service will be held , 16 at Bluebonnet Hills in Colleyville, TX from 4-7pm. service will be held on , 19th at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial , 838 East High Street, Springfield, OH at 12:00, noon. There will also be visiting hours from 10:00am-12:00pm , 19th prior to the service at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial . James will be laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in New Carlisle, OH directly following the service. A luncheon will take place after the graveside service at O’Connors Irish Pub located at 2336 Northmoor Dr, Springfield, OH. Obituary: Merl Douglas Jackman, 64, a long time resident and optometrist in Austin, passed away on 15, 2016 at St. Davids North Austin Medical . Dr. Jackman was born in French Lick, Indiana, on 12, 1951. He married his high school sweetheart, Deborah Knabel, on 2, 2010 and together they have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Dr. Jackman loved his work as an optometrist, his patients, his business associates, and his incredible staff. graduating from Indiana University School of Optometry, he began his career in Austin in 1977. Dr. Jackman was chairman of the board at Texas State Optical, a founding member of Eye Lasik Austin, and owner of M.D. Jackman OD & Associates on North Lamar. Dr. Jackman was devoted to his family and loved golfing. He was also a devoted and caring friend to an extraordinary number of people who spanned his entire life. Dr. Jackman was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Jackman. Survivors include his father, Drexell Jackman; brother, Dan (Karen) Jackman; and sister, Dinah Sue Jackman, all of French Lick, Indiana. He is also survived by his wife, Deborah Nonnie Jackman; his daughters: Lauren (Jordan) Woolf of Fort Worth TX and Sarah (Graham) Carpenter of Austin TX; stepson: Jason (Rachel) Visner of Muskego WI; stepdaughter: Jessica Visner of Venice FL; grandchildren: Nolan Woolf, Parker Woolf, Easton Carpenter, Katie Visner, Caden Visner, and Aldyn Visner. A celebration of his life will be held at his office in Austin. The arrangements are pending. Services will be held at his hometown in French Lick, Indiana.
