Obituary: Charles J Jenkins 1928-2015 Gastonia- Charlie Jason Jenkins, 86 went to be with his Lord and Savior 26, 2015 at Stanley Total Living. He was born in Gaston on 19, 1928 to the late Paul Everette and Lillian Deaton Jenkins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son Perry Clayton Jenkins, brothers Earl and Ed Ray Jenkins, stepmother Baine Nichols Jenkins He was a charter member of Community Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and was a deacon for many years; he loved traveling to watch the braves play ball. He LOVED the beach and enjoyed fishing especially at the beach. Charlie had been in trucking for over 44 years, he retired from Carolina Trucking after 30 years and Gaston Oxygen Supply for 14 years. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Dolly Jenkins, son Gene Jenkins and wife Ann Hayes Jenkins; granddaughter, Gina Jenkins Roberts and husband John; great grandchildren Charles Clayton Jenkins, Cydney Ann Roberts, Dallas Max Roberts; brothers Lanny Jenkins of Mt. Holly, Danny Jenkins of Missouri; sisters Ruby Gibby of Mt. Holly and Myrul Granger of Charlotte Service will be , 28th at 4:00 pm at Community Baptist Church with Reverend Matt Seagle officiating The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on , 28th prior to the service at Community Baptist Church Interment will be at Hollywood Pallbearers will be Donnie Taylor, Tim Stroupe, Eddie Simmons, Jim Bumgarner, Bobby Wells, Gene Pressley In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Community Baptist Church Building Fund, 823 Dallas Stanley Highway, Dallas, North Carolina 28034.
