Obituary: RALPH Thomas Luverne Jones, age 77, of Ralph, died 26, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical . Graveside services will be 2 p.m. at Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel , a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Columbus Bernard and Grace McMurry Jones; sister, Roberta Seigler; and brothers, Carl and Robert. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Jones; daughters, Angela Jones Harlan (Jeff) of Geneva, Ill. and Pamela J. Rymer (Ricky) of Vance; sister, Ann Jones Thornton of Northport; grandchildren, Brandon Rymer (Meredith) and Kari and Jillian Harlan; great-grandchildren, Lexus Rymer, Libby Rymer, Tyler Rymer, and Trooper Rymer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Thomas L. Jones was born 13, 1934, in Holt, Ala. He was the son of Columbus Bernard and Grace (McMurry) Jones. The Jones family migrated to the State of California when Tom was a teen, where he ultimately met his wife, Ruth Pearson, in Porterville. Tom and Ruth lived in numerous states throughout their 56 years of marriage, but moved back to his home state 20 years ago. Tom had many professions during his working career, including truck driver, foundry worker, handyman, carpenter, and real estate management. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling during his life, but loved studying the Bible more than any other hobby. Tom will most be remembered as a dedicated and loving friend, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and husband. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Jones, David Jones, Bruce Jones, Brian Jones, David Watson, Wayne Barger, Kenny Frye, and James Frye. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association or American Diabetes Association . Condolences may be offered at www.memorychapelfuneralhome.com. |

Obituary: Stevenson Cleveland Jones 3, 1921 - 21, 2015 of Helena, AL, passed away at 93 years of age. He was born in Byers, OK. Steve served his country proudly in the army in WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star for valor during the Battle of the Bulge. the war, he began his railroad career and was transferred to Texas and then to Alabama where, in Birmingham, he met Rebecca (Payne), the love of his life. Steve was later transferred with Burlington Northern to Atlanta and finally to Tampa. He was an active member of the Tampa Rough Riders, assisting in a wide variety of service projects throughout the Tampa Bay area. Twenty years ago, Steve and Becky retired to Helena, AL, her hometown. Both were founding members and loyal servants of the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Alabaster. Steve was an avid Braves fan and voracious reader. Steve was preceded in death by a stepson, Robert (Bobby) McPoland, three brothers and a sister, Curtis, Coy, Glenn, and Carol Jo. Survivors include Becky, his devoted wife of 50 years, two granddaughters, Kathryn Esquivel and Allyson Welbourne, six great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be held , 26, at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church at 1:30PM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Nabors in Saginaw, AL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Spirit Episcopal Church 858 Kent Dairy Road, Alabaster, AL 35007. |
