Obituary: Geraldine (Gerie) Marie. Jensen passed away at Shelby Baptist Medical on 18, 2015 at the age of 47. Gerie was preceded in death by her Father, Finley Holloway and Mother Linda Maes Holloway. Gerie is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Kevin D. Jensen. were married in Topeka, KS on 27 1991. Gerie is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Britteny D. Holloway and granddaughter, Autumn R. Holloway, of Alabaster, AL. She will be missed by her three sisters, Dorothy Cleland of Hiram, GA, Maxine Johnson of Trussville, AL, Marsha Howell of Pinson, AL, and brother, Mike Holloway of Jemison, AL. She also leaves behind 13 Nieces and Nephews. Gerie was born in Florence, CO on 19, 1967. She attended Hewitt- Trussville High School in Alabama before going to Birmingham Southern and then enlisted in the United States Navy. serving in the US Navy, Gerie served in both the Kansas and Alabama Army National Guard. Gerie enjoyed reading, crocheting, and raising her Chihuahuas and most of all spending time with her granddaughter. There will be a gathering for Gerie on , 25, from 11 -12 at Rockco in Montevallo, AL. A graveside service will be held at the Alabama National on 25, at 12:30 PM. Obituary: Virginia Jennings a resident of New Market, Alabama passed away May10, 2017 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Lillie Whitt; sisters- Fay, Ann and Bertha; brothers- Marlas, Marvin and William (“Blackie”); and son- Gary. A Christian and member of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church, Virginia was a loving and sweet lady who loved the Lord. She was a wonderful Mother who not only loved her own children unconditionally but also the many children she kept from the area and community for over 30 years. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband Melvin Jennings. She was married to her best friend for 64 years. Sister Frances, two sons Roger (Sandi), and Phillip (Toni) and one daughter Patricia, 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Obituary: services for SMSGT (Ret) Floyd H. Jennings, Sr., 86, of Piedmont will be , 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Thompson with Jesse Clausen and Stan Rogers officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Highland . The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Mr. Jennings passed away , 30, 2014 at Gadsden Regional Medical . Mr. Jennings is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Hulsey Jennings of Piedmont; two sons, Ken Jennings (Maria) of San Antonio, Texas and Floyd H. Jennings, Jr. (Shelia) of Piedmont; three daughters, Deborah Clausen (Jim Hines) and Donna Wilson (Jerome) all of Piedmont and Deanna Gilbreath (Joe) of Jacksonville; daughter-in-law, Bobbi Jennings of Jacksonville; ten grandchildren, Carrie Rogers (Stan), Jesse Clausen (Gigi), Ryan Jennings (Dana), Jillian Turner (Jason), Dustyn Jennings, Shelley Jennings, Whitney Wilson, Kelley Carroll (Ben), B. J. Murphy and Brooke Murphy; and 21 great-grandchildren. Mr. Jennings was preceded in death by his son, Lewis D. Jennings; his parents, Dewey and Mary Jennings; three brothers; and four sisters. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be members or Lozahatchee Masonic Lodge # 97 F&AM. SMSGT (Ret) Floyd H. Jennings, Sr. retired from the United States Air Force with 26 years five months of service. He was a Flight Engineer Instructor on the C-130 Hercules Aircraft. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross. He earned this medal in combat. His aircraft was heavily damaged by enemy fire. This particular mission is written about in a book, The C-130 Hercules: Tactical Airlift Missions, 1956 - 1975. He earned seven Air Medals for Combat Support Missions. You had to fly 35 days to earn one Air Medal. He also received the Presidential Unit Citation, the Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Accommodation Medal, and Senior Air Crew Member Wings. He has been to over 50 countries, ranging from one night to six months. He joined the Air Force at the tail end of World War II. He was a veteran of three wars, WWII, Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a 62 year member and past master of Lozahatchee Masonic Lodge # 97 F&AM, past Noble Grand of Piedmont Lodge #524 Independent Order of ODD Fellows, life member, past commander of VFW post #4263, past district #4 Commander, life member, Quartermaster of VFW Post #4263, past Commander of Savage - Stewart Camp #523 Sons of Confederate Veterans, and life member of American Legion Post #98.
