Obituary: LEWISTON: Reginald (Reggie) Francis Johnson, 93, of Auburn died peacefully on 18, 2015 at the Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living in Lewiston, after a brief illness. A lifetime resident of Auburn, Maine, he was educated in the Auburn school system and graduated from Edward Little High School. Reggie proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps, 15th Air Force, 47th Bomb Wing, 449th Bomber Group (Heavy) during World War II. He was trained as a flight engineer/gunner on the B-24 bomber. Based at Grottaglie Airfield, Taranto, Italy, his crew flew bombing missions supporting the war efforts during the European Campaign. Highly respected by his crew for his skill, ingenuity, and selfless actions, he saved the aircraft and crew on more than one occasion. Upon discharge from the military in 1945, Reggie returned to Auburn where Fernwood Dairy, operated by his future father-in-law, George W. Mottram, employed him as a route salesman. There he met and married the former Martha Mottram. were married on 29, 1946, and celebrated 59 years of marriage. In the mid 1960s they closed the dairy business and opened Fernwood Excavating on the Turner Road in Auburn. Reggie was a very proficient heavy equipment operator, well known and respected in the industry. He continued in this business until his retirement. He was a member of the 449th Bomb Group Association, the American Legion, and St. Michaels Episcopal Church. Reggie was very devoted to his family. His pastime activities included gardening and woodworking. He is survived by son Michael (AnneMarie) Johnson of Tucson, AZ, two grandsons Jeffrey (Kasey) Johnson of Dallas, Texas and Thomas (Stacy) Johnson of Stockton, California and five great grandchildren, his devoted Sisters-in-law Beryl Mottram of Auburn and Geneva (Adrien) Beauregard of Lewiston, and numerous nieces and nephews. Reggie was predeceased by his parents John and Grace Johnson of Auburn, his devoted and beloved wife, Martha M. Johnson, his brother Blaine (Barbara) Johnson of Massapequa Park, New York, and his brother Roger (Loretta) Johnson of South Portland. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank all of the staff at Russell Park for their dedication to Reggie's care. Obituary: DATELINE: Portland Rebecca Carroll Johnson, age 77 of Williams Street, Portland died afternoon 27, 2012 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Southwest Harbor the daughter of Wesley B., and L. Evelyn Warren Carroll. She attended schools in Machias graduating from Machias High School class of 1952. She also graduated from Johns Hopkins School of . Rebecca was a member of the Woodfords Congregational Church, a member of the National Association of Parlimentaritians, and a member of the Elizabeth Wadsworth Chapter of the DAR. She also was a warden for District 3-2 City of Portland for the past 17 years. Besides her husband of 52 years Wayne W. Johnson of Portland, she leaves 3 Daughters; Janet and her husband Philip Thompson of Gorham, Jennifer and her husband Dave Shugars of Scarborough, Judy and her husband Rodney Walter of Phoenix, AZ, a Sister, Barbara Maloy of Machiasport, Me. Also survived by her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Obituary: Promoted To Glory Rev. Paul E Johnson (8/1/1919-10/14/14) Born as the second son of Mr. Carl & Cary Johnson in Ellsworth, ME, Rev. Johnson began his earthly journey. Following his graduation from Ellsworth High School, he furthered his post-secondary training as a typewriter/calculator repair technician traveling across New England. His real pursuit was to seek Gods will for his life, which took him to be trained as a Minister of the Gospel at Hephzibah Bible school in Portland ME, while maintaining his vocation in the technology world. He was a great husband and a wonderful father and fulfilled the father role in the life of many. He was employed last at Church Office Equipment. His interests included trains, technology & current events in the world. He kept himself updated in computer technology and proved that he was a quick learner. Being a story-teller himself he loved to laugh and make others do the same. His ministry pursuit set off being the pastor of Assembly of God in Westbrook and subsequent pastorates in Brunswick, ME, Medford, Mass., Ocala, FL and interim pastorate at First Assembly of God in Portland ME. He had been a significant part of the ministry of First Assembly of God in his retiring years. Being a man of compassion and kindness in words and deeds, he has impacted many people during the years of ministry and leaves behind many fond memories. His unique way of communication was Rev. Johnsons strength in captivating attention from any audience. His ministry ranged from Teaching, Preaching to Counseling those in distress. A few quotes from those who knew him are: a positive man, a man who has biblical answers to lifes puzzling questions, a people person, a great friend, a man of prayer and finally, from his wife, Hes a prince of a man. Always believing the best in people and desiring for their best was the epitaph of his life. Now that his ministry is complete, he has gone to be with his Lord to receive the reward for his lifes work. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Thelma Johnson of Scarborough, a sister Eunie Wann of Arizona, several nieces, nephews & relatives who really admire him. Rev. Johnsons departure is a significant loss for First Assembly of God. Rev. Johnson was predeceased by Priscilla Johnson, Eudora Johnson (spouses), Deborah Welshon (daughter), Hilding Johnson (brother), Carl & y Johnson (parents). A Celebration of Life & Legacy of Rev. Johnson will be held at First Assembly of God, 243 Cumberland Ave. Portland ME (207-774-2415) on , 18th at 4:00 PM and reception to follow. A visiting hour is 3:00PM-4:00PM prior to the service. Obituary: Dateline: Cape Elizabeth Nancy A. Johnson, 77 passed away 2 with her loving family by her side. She had fought a courageous battle having multiple health issues. She was born in Cape Elizabeth, 11, 1938, a daughter of the late William D. and Barbara (Leighton) Murray. Nancy was the oldest of 43 Murray grandchildren. She attended Cape schools graduating in the Class of 1957 where to this day, had many friends. She played the piano and glockenspiel for the chorus, orchestra and band and was active in sports and other school activities. In 1960, Nancy graduated from The New England Deaconess Hospital School of receiving her RN. She than worked there for a time on the Medical Surgical Unit before moving to Maine to work in the Nephrology Unit at Maine Medical . She was a past member of the Nephrology Board. Nancy had a love and devotion to her nephrology patients and their families. This was demonstrated every evening when as charge nurse, she would make the ounds on all her patients, sit by their side and put her long Murray arm around them, instilling some amount of peace and trust in their uncertain world. Later in her career she lived in Hancock, Me. working at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital ER Department. She then moved back to Cape Elizabeth to the house her father built and worked at Visiting Nurses. During her semi-retirement she enjoyed her vegetable garden and reading with her devoted dog, Olivia by her side. She was a member of the Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church where she enjoyed her church friends and Judys Food Pantry in the Cape. Having come from a large farming, building and fishing family, she was well aware that there were families who needed some assistance - even in Cape Elizabeth! She worked to build the food pantry into a year- round venture with non-perishables in the winter months when the farms could not grow produce. Nancy married Bruce M. Johnson and was a loving mother to Scott William Johnson and Diana Jill Johnson. spent many summers at Watchic Lake where they always enjoyed water sports and time with family and extended family. She leaves behind her loving wife of 21 years, Betty-Jane Shreve of Cape Elizabeth, her son Scott and his wife Jennie and granddaughter Nicole of Westhampton, MA and Los Angeles, CA., her daughter Diana Fournier and husband Stephen of So. Portland and their children Deirdre Beaupre and husband Andy of Hyde Park, VT, and Chase Fournier of Seattle, WA and 2 step grandchildren Carlin and Carson Stimus, 2 sisters, Betty Mullin, of Scarborough and Beverly Lowell and husband David of Kennebunk and 1 brother, Gerald Murray and wife Sharon of Cape Elizabeth and their son William D. Murray and wife Catherine of Standish. Nancy leaves her daughter-in-law Marcie McCullough Yager of Gorham and her husband Stephen and their daughters Emily and Julia and her son-in-law Colin McCullough, his 2 sons, Carric and Gareth McCullough of Sutton, MA. and her uncle, Arnold B. Murray of Cape Elizabeth As mentioned, Nancy was from a large blue collar Cape family. Nancy was predeceased by 10 aunts and uncle of her Murray/Peabbles grandparents, Alonzo and Emma (Peabbles) Murray of Cape Elizabeth and 3 uncles of her Leighton/Hannaford grandparents, Ralph and Ada (Hannaford) Leighton who were farmers living on Wells Road in Cape Elizabeth.
