Obituary: Carol Brandenburg Jensen, 86, formerly of Brownsville, died on , 9, 2016, at Enloe Medical in Chico, CA. Carol was born in Union on , 2, 1929, to William and Isabelle Funk Brandenburg and spent her early years on the family farm. Her family moved to Brownsville where she attended high school. Carol married Quincy Honaker in 1946 and had two children, Deby and Dennis. In 1956 her family moved to California but her heart was always in Indiana and her wish was to be buried in the Brandenburg Section of the Brownsville United Methodist Church . She was employed as an inspector for over 30 years for Bendix in Sylmar, California, producing components for submarines. Carol loved to crochet, play bingo, cook, garden, and sing Back home again in Indiana. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Floyd Jensen of California; a son Dennis J. Honaker of California; a step-daughter, Renee Jensen; two sisters: Marie Brown of Florida and Louise Stinson and husband Ernest of Brownsville; a brother, Lowell Brandenburg and wife Marilyn of Brownsville; five grandchildren who will miss her dearly; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Deby Honaker; and brothers Earl and Donald Brandenburg. services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on , 20, 2016, at Showalter Blackwell Long , Fosdick Chapel, in Liberty. Interment will follow in Brownsville United Methodist Church . Friends may visit at the funeral home on from 2:00 p.m.. until time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the donors choice of charity. Obituary: Willie R. Jennings, 83, went home to be with the Lord on 20, 2015, at his residence. Willie was born on 8, 1931 in Sunflower, MS to William and Ordeal Jennings. He attended the public school system of Sunflower, MS then he later went on to college and received an associates in Mechanics. Willie loved to travel, he never met a stranger. He loved spending time with his family and friends, he loved playing cards, and he loved passing on his life experiences through conversation with others. Willie departed this life on 20, 2015. He was preceded in death by his mother and father William and Ordeal Jennings, two brothers Joseph Jennings and Eddie Jennings, one sister Leatha Fowler, his wife Ethel Jennings, and a daughter Sheryl Jones. Obituary: Richard Morley Dan Jennings, III, 84, of Snow Lake, Fremont, Indiana, departed this life on , 5, 2015, at his home. He was born on 7, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA. to Richard M. Jennings, Jr. and Virginia G. Jennings. He graduated from Edgewood H.S. in Pittsburgh, PA., and the University of Kentucky, in General Business, Alpha Tau Omega; Delta Sigma Pi. During his years at UK he enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he served from 1953-1956, stationed out of Fort Lee Virginia, receiving an honorable discharge, and returning to finish his college degree. He located to Ft. Wayne ending his career with U.S. Steel when he purchased McCoy Bolt Works in 1967, until retiring to Tequesta, Florida and Snow Lake. During his years in Ft. Wayne he served as President of the Northwest Allen Schools in 1975-76, and also served as secretary and Vice-President, also as President of the Business Forum among his many civic contributions, as well as being instrumental in the start-up of the Make*A*Wish of Allen . Big Brothers/Big Sisters was also dear to his heart. His love of family and community was in part of what made him a most admirable man. An avid fan of his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and Kentucky Wildcats, our family all had great times with him, wonderful memories forever. Always in our hearts he leaves behind his loving wife, Karen of 35 years, 6 children, Richard M. Dick Jennings (Julie) of Ft. Wayne, IN., Robert Bob Jennings of Phoenix, AZ., Jenifer Jennings Warner (Jeff) of Huntertown, IN., Sarah Salli Swift (Terry) of Vaschon, WA., Christopher Chris Jennings (Isabella) of Jupiter, FL., and Della Jennings of Fremont, IN., 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Jenifer Hagy (Ted) of Rehoboth Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Sarah Thomas. Visitation will be held from 3-6 pm , 17, 2015 at Beams , Fremont, Indiana. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 am , 18, 2015 at Beams , with Rev. Wayne Berkesch officiating. Military honors will be conducted by members of the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post 257. Burial will be held at a later time at Jamestown , Fremont, Indiana. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Humane Society of Steuben , 1700 N 200 W, Angola, IN 46703. |
