Obituary: Willo Dean Willie Hyde passed away 14, 2016 after a brief illness. Willie was born in Morrilton, Arkansas on 28, 1933, and grew up in West Helena, Arkansas. She attended Helena-West Helena High School where she was a member of the marching band and a majorette. She was also a Phillips , AR Rodeo Queen. She attended the University of Arkansas, Ole Miss, Memphis State and Jacksonville University, majoring in accounting. Willie was married to Victor Hyde, Jr., in 1955. She had three children, Whit (Karen), Stan (Suzette) and Amy all residing in Jacksonville. She had three granddaughters, Whitley, Emily Walker, and Krystale. She has three cousins, Jim, Delaine, and Bob Morgan, all of Arkansas. Willie is also survived by her husband of 60 years, Victor Hyde, Jr. Willie was preceded in death by parents Doff and Lessie Horton Byerley. In 1968 Willie opened Avondale Childrens Shop. This business later became known as Willies. For over 45 years she dressed several generations of children from the Jacksonville area and beyond. Willie was well known for her sense of style and fashion. She designed and produced much of the clothing sold in her shop. She retired two years ago, at the age of 80. Her daughter Amy now owns and manages the business. Willie also owned and managed several apartment buildings in Riverside. She was a very successful business woman. Willie was a member of several charitable and social organizations including, St. Vincents Gray Ladies, Ortega School PTA President, WJCT Auction Chair, Stokesia Garden Club, Seminole Canoe Club, Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, and the Avondale Merchants Association. Willie also enjoyed time with her book club friends. More recently, she made great new friends playing Bridge. Willie will be buried with a graveside service at the family plot in Maple Hill , Helena, AR. Methodist Pastor, Mike Wilkie presiding. will be by Roller-Citizens , West Helena, AR. A date has not yet been set. The family is very grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Vincents Hospital for the wonderful care they gave Willie during her stay. Additional thanks to Community Hospice. The family is extremely grateful to the many friends who have offered their love and support during this trying time. |

Obituary: Robert C. Hyde passed away peacefully on 21st 2016 surrounded by people he loved. Robert was born on 25th, 1961 in Seville, Spain, to Bruce and Audrie Hyde. living in Spain for several years, Roberts family returned to their home state of Pennsylvania, where Robert graduated from Red Land High School and then worked as a Page in the Pennsylvania Senate for several years. Robert enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1985 and spent the next 22 years traveling around the world, with assignments & deployments in Missouri, Guam, Georgia, Somalia, Turkey, Florida, and Qatar. Robert retired from the USAF in 2007, then worked in civil service at Eglin AFB, and was also a longtime scuba instructor at Eglin AFB. It was in Guam that Robert first became an open water certified scuba diver and then worked part-time work as a Divemaster. He became a Dive Instructor in 1992and attained the top Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) certification, Master Instructor, in 2002. Robert certified over 3,200 dive students and exchanged countless congratulatory fist bumps over his dive instructor career. Throughout his life, Robert loved to recreationally dive and spearfish. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and loving brother Michael Hyde. He is survived by his girlfriend Cheryl, close friends Holly and Laura, and pets Winks and Slim. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eglin Yacht club at 1630, 8th 2016. In lieu of flowers, please provide donations to SOCKs in Ft Walton Beach. |
