Obituary: Roberta (Birdie) Joann Holsclaw died on , May 13 at Boulder Community Hospital surrounded by her immediate family. She was born in Staunton, Virginia, 23, 1948 to William Woodward and Arliss (Shaffer) Monk and came with her family to Greeley, Colorado in 1954. She attended Greeley schools and the University of Northern Colorado and was a member of the First Congregational Church. On 14, 1970 she married Kris Lee Hernbloom in Greeley; they later divorced. She had a long and distinguished career as a certified professional genealogist in compiling, lecturing and teaching. She was a faculty member of the yearly Samford Institute in Birmingham, Alabama and a Fellow of the Utah Genealogical Association. She married Russell Paul Holsclaw on 22, 1980 in Greeley and they lived in Longmont the remainder of her life. Survivors are her husband and a son, Will Holsclaw, of Longmont; step-daughter, Heather Holsclaw of Lansing, Michigan; sister Gail (David) Newton of Greeley; mother Arliss Monk of Greeley; nephews David Gonzalez of Sacramento, California, and Justin Hoffner of Greeley; niece Camille (Craig) Steiner of South Elgin, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her father, William Monk, and brother, Joel Kenneth Monk. Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on , May 22 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1000 15th Ave., Longmont, Colorado. Inurnment will follow at a time and date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to the Birdie Holsclaw Memorial Fund, c/o Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder, CO 80301. Obituary: Edna Mead Holsan Charlesworth peacefully passed away afternoon, 13th in her native town of Grand Junction, Colorado. Born in 1918 to Edith and Albert Mead. She graduated from Fruitvale High School and went on to attend Ross Business School. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Holsan, and they had 4 children; Richard, Gary, Myrna and Kent. Roberts early passing in 1961 she raised their children on her own until her marriage to Lloyd Charlesworth (deceased). Always active within her community and her political party she served as a board member of Clifton Sanitation District #2, was a devoted member of the Clifton Christian church, a participant in the Clifton Garden Club, and longtime employee for the Clifton Water District to name a few. She loved the outdoors and her beautiful yard, time with loved ones and volunteering. Later in life she began painting and spent countless hours recreating the beauty she saw in the world that she was so active in. Forever loved by all that knew her, including her 7 grandkids, 7 great grandkids and many other extended family members. Edna will be laid to rest at Memorial Gardens following a service at Martin Mortuary on 23rd at 10am. |

Obituary: Yolanda was a special individual she loved life she showed it in everything that she did. For the past four and a half years she battled colon cancer she was determined that she was going to give it her all and try to beat the cancer, but unfortunately: the cancer won. Yolie worked for Bullwhackers for 16 years she was a loyal and devoted employee she loved her job and her employees. She was always concerned about taking her employees candy or gifts for the holidays. She was amazing she went to work every day as long as she could calling in sick was a no, no for Yolie. Yolie was the most giving person her doors were always to anyone if you needed a home Yolie never turned anyone away she had a big heart, maybe too big at times. You would walk into her home and the sound of music was always playing it was Mexican, country, or gospel she wore out several CD players, Melissa was tired of buying them. About seven years ago Yolie learned to crocket Mom taught her on one of our visits to Denver which was only a three day visit she was sharp she picked up that needle and never put it down until of 2010 when she just couldn do it anymore. Her afghans were beautiful all twenty something of them. She always counted them when Mom came to visit to make sure that Mom didn take any of them home with her she was very stingy with her afgan if you got one you were special to her. Dancing was another of Yolies many talents ever since she was a young girl she loved to dance she could waltz around the floor all night long or do a graceful ranchta. Yolie loved the Holidays she loved to buy gifts for her Grandchildren she was a tuff Grandma never really showing her affection but she really loved her Grandchildren and all her family members. Yolie cared for her little blue eyes on s they would go shopping to Walmart and she would always limit him to only one toy. Little Blue Eyes would sit and watch Grandma crocket at the table. She took him to Walmart one day and asked him to pick out colors so she could make him a blanket he picked out the Bronco colors. Little Blue Eyes is Brendon. Yolie had three children Val, Dennis and Melissa each child was special in her heart Val for her talented arts and crafts, Dennis for his sports and Melissa for going back to school after being out for 10 years working and going to school. Melissa is about to finish school and Yolie is going to be watching over her and seeing her graduate.
