Obituary: On 31, 1927, two baby girls were delivered to Don and Cleta Kennedy, Schell City, MO. The last-born of those little twin girls was Marye Kennedy Holley who departed this life on 21, 2017 in Colorado Springs, CO. at the age of 89. Marye spent her early adult life in western Missouri, graduating from Schell City High School in 1945, Southwest Baptist in 1947, and Oklahoma Baptist University in 1949. She married Franklyn Dale Holley of Houston, MO in 1950 and they celebrated 67 years of marriage in , 2017. are the parents of Thomas Kennedy Holley, Rachel Mynatte Holley, and Betsy Lee Holley Shilling. Marye lived in many parts of the United States and the world as she and the children followed her husband, an Army Chaplain, through an Military career. Through those years as circumstances, opportunity, and parenting responsibilities allowed, Marye taught school, worked in Civil Service and finally for many years as a legal assistant in a law firm in Fairbanks, Alaska. Marye was preceded in death by her parents, her older and only brother, W. Don Kennedy, her twin sister, Mynatte Whisler, and an infant grandson, Joseph Holley-Kline. She leaves behind her husband, Franklyn Dale Holley, her son Tom (Nancy), her daughter Rachel, her daughter, Betsy (Dan) and 5 grandchildren: Will and Claire Holley, Sam and Jake Holley-Kline and Jordan Shilling. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, Black Forest, Colorado, on , 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Arlington National , Arlington, Virginia, at a time in the near future. |

Obituary: James W. Holley, Sr. beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away unexpectedly on 5, 2015 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Big Spring, Texas on 27, 1930 to Roy and Lula Mae Holley. James joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950 and was stationed in Germany. There he met his future wife, Astrid G. Volker, at the resort community of Wasserkuppe and they were married on 10, 1954. The couple moved to Lubbock , Texas, where James pursued his degree in Geology from Texas Tech University, graduating in 1958. working for an oil company in Texas and after numerous moves, James choose a career in aerospace and accepted a positon with Lockheed Missiles and Space in Sunnyvale, California in 1962. The family settled there and raised their two children, Karin and Jim. In 1985, James and Astrid were relocated to Colorado Springs with the company, now Lockheed Martin. James and Astrid fell in love with Colorado and in 1990 he retired and this became their permanent home. loved golfing and had golfed in 26 of 50 states. James and Astrid loved travel and were able to spend their 50 anniversary in Germany. James also had a passion for drawing and painting. James is survived by his loving wife, Astrid, daughter Karin Rhodes and son James W. Holley, Jr. and his wife Nanette. Loving grandchildren are Kristin, Timothy and Katherine Rhodes, and Lauren and Alyssa Holley. He was loved and respected and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Services are planned for , 19, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., Swan-Law Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave. with burial to follow at Evergreen . |

Obituary: John Hollendorfer, a family man and business owner well known among the Pikes Peak regions automotive and motorcycle enthusiasts, died peacefully Nov. 29 at his home in Black Forest. He was 64. One of Johns greatest joys was riding a motorcycle, and he loved to share the experience with others. Dozens of times, he took trips on his motorcycle covering thousands of miles across the American West, the Pacific Northwest, southern states and the East Coast. He kept stacks of folded paper maps to plan his travels and even the day before he died had been making plans for the next trip with his son. John is survived by his wife of 39 years, Betty Hollendorfer; a son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Kristina Hollendorfer; and two grandchildren, Adrian and Caitlyn Hollendorfer, all of Colorado Springs. John Jeffery Hollendorfer was born 21, 1950, in Akron, Ohio, to Fritz and Della Hollendorfer. He was the third of six children. John lived part of his childhood in Japan, where his father was deployed with the U.S. Air Force. The family moved multiple times before settling in Widefield in 1968. He graduated from Widefield High School in 1970 and shortly afterward enlisted in the Navy, where he served as an aircraft hydraulicsman. In 1973, John moved to Detroit, MI. working at Ford Truck and Car Assembly Plants and later at Kelsey-Hayes Assembly Plant, supplier of car, truck and bus wheels for the big-three automakers. Thats where he met his future wife, Betty Louise (Roberts) Hollendorfer. were set up on a blind date. have rarely been apart since. were married 17, 1975. The family moved back to Widefield in 1978. John began working on the counter at Harris Used Parts, an auto salvage business in Colorado Springs. He and Betty bought a share of the business in 1983 and became full partners in 1986. He retired in 2006. Long after his retirement, John remained connected to many Pikes Peak area residents he had known through the business and his continuing love of motorcycles. John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joel Steven Hollendorfer. Other survivors include siblings Frederick Clifton Hollendorfer and sister-in- law Dona of Wheat Ridge, CO.; Thomas David Hollendorfer of Holiday, FL, Mary Catherine (Hollendorfer) Mandel and brother-in-law Terry of Larkspur, CO.; and Paul Andrew Hollendorfer and partner Perry Swanson of Colorado Springs, CO. Memorial services will be held at Swan Law Directors 501 N. Cascade. Colo. Spgs., CO at 11:00 AM Sat. Dec. 6, 2014, reception to follow.
