Obituary: Robert R. Hornes, age 77, of Sheboygan, died evening, 15, 2012 after an extended illness.
Robert was born 26, 1934 in Sheboygan to Alexander and Emily (Yurk) Hornes. He received his Masters Degree in Social Work from UW-Milwaukee and finished his career as a social worker for the Sheboygan Area School District, retiring in 1997.
In 1976 Robert and Patricia Sams were united in marriage in Green Bay.
Robert was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed the arts and theater. He loved spending wonderful times with his family, especially visiting his grandchildren in Tennessee. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling over the years.
In addition to his wife, Pat, he is survived by his son, Daniel Sams of Knoxville, TN; his two daughters, Lecia Sams of Green Bay and Ann Helmke of Sheboygan; his two grandchildren, Laura Sams and Alex Sams, both of Knoxville, TN; his brother, David (Joyce) Hornes of Sheboygan; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Doris Hornes.
services will be held at 2:00 p.m. , 20, 2012 at Ballhorn Chapels. Rev. Dana Loney will officiate. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in the name of Robert R. Hornes for the Froedtert Hospital Foundation Clinical Cancer .
Bob will always be remembered for having a song in his heart and for the happiness he shared.

Obituary: Goldie E. Hornes, age 87, passed away afternoon, 15, 2011 after a short stay at Sheboygan Progressive .
Goldie was born 22, 1924 in Gilbert MN to Charles and Mary (Indihar) Klancher. She was a graduate of Eveleth High School, Class of 1942. On 11, 1948 Goldie and Roland Hornes were united in marriage at St. Dominic Catholic Church. were longtime residents of the 1600 block of Mead Avenue in Sheboygan. For a number of years Goldie was employed at Kohler Co. and later at Mayline Co. On 14, 2008, after nearly sixty years of marriage, Rollie preceded her in death.
Goldie loved spending time with her family at their cottage on Wilke Lake where wonderful memories were made. Her hobbies included reading, traveling, and playing cards. Above all, she loved taking care of her family and was a wonderful homemaker. She immensely enjoyed spending time with her great-granddaughters, Julia and Olivia. Goldie had a great sense of humor, a twinkle in her eye and a beautiful smile for everyone.
She is survived by two sons, Ron (Jane) Horness and Carl (Laurie) Horness, all of Sheboygan; her granddaughter, Jennifer (Josh) Sachse and her great-granddaughters, Julia and Olivia Sachse all of Sheboygan; her sister, Margaret Hocevar of Sheboygan Falls; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Rollie, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Rannikar.
A Memorial Gathering in Celebration of Goldies life will be held on , 18, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Ballhorn Chapels.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at Harbor Heights for their care and concern these last few years.
Goldie was an extraordinary mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who had a heart of gold. She will be dearly missed.

Obituary: Mae Louise (Hickenbotham) Horneck, 88, of Sheboygan passed away peacefully , 27, 2014 surrounded by her family at Sunny Ridge and Rehabilitation .
Mae was born May 6, 1925 at the family home in the town of Lyndon, WI as the second daughter to Clarence and Esther (Witzel) Hickenbotham.
She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1944. graduation Mae worked for Lakeshire Marty Co. in Plymouth.
On 2, 1946 Mae and Elton G. Horneck were united in marriage at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth. The couple settled in the town of Sheboygan and raised their family. Elton preceded her in death on 16, 2001.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.
Mae was employed by Thimmigs Restaurant for a short time. Then started as a dietary aide at Sunny Ridge and Rehabilitation and worked her way up to Head Cook, retiring in 1986.
Mae and Elton celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1996.
Together with Elton, Mae spent many years four-wheeling, fishing, hunting and relaxing at their cabin in Forrest . It was there that they hosted an annual Deer-Camp where Mae enjoyed keeping the men well fed. She was proud of personally finding her own bait to catch story-worthy fish, especially a 38 Northern Pike. Mae had her own vegetable gardens and flower beds. She filled her fruit cellar with her bounty and was famous for her homemade pickles, jams and jellies. She was an excellent cook and her soups, homemade bread, zucchini cake, snails, peanut squares and deviled eggs were family favorites.
Mae is survived by her children, daughter Diane (Jerry) Baumann of ville, their children Darcie (fiance Chas Dodge) Baumann, Tamara (fiance Jesse Scheuren) Baumann , Amelia (Erick) Heling; son Dennis (Rosemary) Horneck of Plymouth, their children, Craig Horneck, Pam (John) Kuka, Jessica (Jonathan) Clune, Denise (David) Kelling, and Thomas Horneck; son James (Barbara) Horneck of Sheboygan, their children, Daniel (Duste) Horneck and Stacy Horneck; great-grandchildren, Landon, Calli, Chase, Jacob, Hannah, Emily, Matt, Alex, Dylan, Isaac, Zachary, Hailey, Sawyer, and Harlow; sisters, Isabelle (John) DeZwarte of Sheboygan Falls and Doris Dassow of Plymouth; sisters-in-laws Jean (Robert) Schiellack of Sussex and LouEva Schmahl of Elkhart Lake; brother-in-law Carl (Mabel) Horneck of Sheboygan; and other family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband Elton, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Bernice Horneck; brothers-in-laws, Helmuth Dassow and Allen Horneck; Lloyd Schmahl ; parents-in-law, Raymond (Ella Schneider) Horneck; and great-grandchild Chase Horneck.
A memorial fund has been established in Maes name.
A time of visitation and support will be held , 3, 2014 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6706 Superior Ave., Kohler, WI 53044. In accordance with Maes wishes, a private family service will be held.

Obituary: Kenneth Carl Horneck, age 80, of Sheboygan, died morning, May 26, 2011 at his home.
Kenny was born 18, 1930 in Sheboygan to LeRoy and Eleanora (Sass) Horneck. He was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School, Class of 1949 and continued his education at Michigan State University.
In , 1953 Kenny and Elizabeth A. Meyer were married at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ. Betty preceded him in death on 29, 1989.
Kenny began working at Vollrath Co., and other foundries in the area before beginning employment at Austin Gray Foundry in 1964 where he later became a co-owner and partner, retiring in 1998.
He was an active member of First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ.
Kenny was an avid outdoorsman and member of the Farmers and Sportmans Club, Ducks Unlimited, NRA and other hunting and sportmans groups. He was a supporting member of the Sheboygan Youth Trap League especially in their developing years.
Kenny is survived by his sister, Faye E. Gehrig; his brother-in-law, Bob Eldridge; nieces and nephews, Pam (Cliff) Coffaro of Arizona, Kim Schulte of Waterford, Kevin (Lindsley) Gehrig of Oregon, Tammy (Kevin) Kaczorowski of West Allis, Cliff (Mary) Eldridge, Cheryl (Mike) Coenen, Julie (Larry) Schoemer of Sheboygan, and daughters of Sarah Bradford: Cay, Amy and Chris; great-nieces and great-nephews, Brianna, Elizabeth, Andrew, Morgan, Jacob, Samantha, Jason, Lisa, and Stephanie; his dear friends, Greg and Chris Girdaukas and their family; long time friends, Paul and Marianne Voss and Sue Dahmer; his loyal companion, Twister; and many other caring friends.
In addition to his wife, Kenny was preceded in death by two infant sons, Stewart and Stephan; his sister, Joan Eldridge; his brother-in-law, Bernard Gehrig; his sister-in-law, Sarah Bradford; and his great-nephew, Ben Coenen.
A memorial service will be held on , May 31, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Ballhorn Chapels. Rev. Dr. Steven J. Pedersen, Senior Pastor at Zion Covenant Church, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 4:00 p.m.until the time of service.

His parents, father Anders Hansen Horne born 25, 1863 in Vestfossen, Norway and mother Maren Nyhus Gilbertson born 18, 1879 in Modum, Norway immigrated to Hayward, WI in 1881 and 1890, respectively. He was the tenth of twelve children, all of whom predeceased him.

Vernon was proud of being a part of large family and his Norwegian heritage. He grew up on a farm in rural Chippewa Falls, WI, and later earned post graduate degrees at the University of Wisconsin School of Agriculture. His lifelong dedication and leadership of family, agriculture, scholarship, Norse culture and Lutheran faith is gratefully recognized and appreciated. His passion for gardening and cribbage is legendary.

Vernon is survived by his wife Vernietta A. Mantzke Hansen of Beaver Dam; his daughters: Rosanne M. Horne and Maren E. Horne; his granddaughters: Melissa A. Mravec and Amanda E. Mravec; his step-children: Dianne (Terry) Kleber and Peter (Gail) Hansen; step-grandchildren: Patricia (Eric) Messinger, Megan (Sean) Hahn, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Rossi and Kristopher (Amy) Hansen; step-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and his first wife, Hanna Ellen Sather.

Vernons family extends their gratitude to the compassionate and caring staff at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
