Obituary: Monika I. Humphrey, 66, of Saint Albans passed away after a long illness (date) at home. She was born 12th, 1948 to Kurt and Ingeborg Groening in Wiesbaden, Germany. Monika met and married her husband of 51 years Charles H. Humphrey, while he was stationed at the Wiesbaden Air Force Base in Germany. She moved with him to the United States in 1964. She proudly became a naturalized citizen of the United States of America in 1972. She was a loving housewife devoted to her husband and family. Monika worked as a sales associate for Aywards and then E&E Jewelers until her husband’s retirement in 1999 to which she then enjoyed traveling and riding the rails with her husband. She is survived by her husband, Charles of Saint Albans; children, Stephanie Peters of Saint Albans and Melissa Good and her husband, Randy, of Big Chimney; grandchildren, Kendal Good and her companion Dameon Forney of Big Chimney and Mikeala Peters of Saint Albans; great-grandchildren, Dameona Forney, Dameon J. Forney, and Athena Forney of Big Chimney; brother-n-law, Gary Humphrey and his wife, Sharon, of Daniels, West Virginia; nieces, Alisha Hines and her husband, Justin, of Woods Harbor, Nova Scotia and Stacey Humphrey of Charleston; beloved pets, Ludwig and Artie. In honoring her wishes there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in her name to Hospice Charleston, West Virginia, or David Lee Cancer , West Virginia, or Yellowstone Park Foundation. |

Obituary: Chief Warrant Officer CW3, Charles William Bill Humphrey, 68 years, a resident of Seneca Trail, Montrose, departed from this life into his Heavenly , 12, 2016 at Davis Medical in Elkins, where he had been a patient for ten days. He was surrounded by love from his wife Cynthia. Bill was born 8, 1947 in Parsons, the son of the late Charles A. and Dorothy L. Heckler Humphrey. On 21, 1970 at Red House, MD, he married the love of his life, Cynthia Edwards, who survives at home. had celebrated forty-five years of marriage. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Cynthia and their two beautiful children, Michele Humphrey of Dillard, GA and Charles Dwayne Humphrey and wife Lisa of Warsaw, NC; two grandchildren, Madison and Jackson Humphrey of Warsaw, NC; two sisters, Sheila Marsh and Al DArpe of Hambleton, Carol Smith and husband Charles of Pittsburgh, PA; three brothers, Edwin Evans and wife Lora of Hambleton, Brian K. Humphrey and wife Amy of Rosehill, VA, Charles JR Humphrey and wife Jessica of Beckley; one cousin raised as a brother and loved as one, James P. Waybright and Philopine Boulder Stone, Painsville, OH; a very special great niece, Nevaeh G. Burdock of Parsons; a very dear and special caregiver, Karen Russel of Kerens; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. His cat Mister Puff. One half-brother, Ronald Heckler, preceded him in death. He was an exceptional man, a wonderful loving husband, a loving and caring Dad and very proud of his children. His two grandchildren were the joy and pride of his life. A true and loyal friend and outstanding listener. Truly loved his sister Sheila, his cousin James Waybright, and his mother-in law, Gwen Carr. His family was very special to him. Those who knew him always said what a good and caring man he was. Loved little children and especially babies, had a soft heart for the older people and animals, especially cats. He worked his whole life and was a dedicated employee of whatever position he was working. In his youth, he worked at Stevens Florist, Kingsford Manufacturing Co. Was in the United States Army for twenty-two years and six months, retired as CW3. Served three years in Vietnam, six years in Germany, Korea one year and several other short assignments, and retired from Fort Bragg, NC. Then worked at Scrivner Wholesale Foods as a fleet maintenance manager in NC, owned his own business for a while and returned to his home state where he worked at Colonial Millworks, Bevery and Canaan Valley Resort. While in the Army, he was awarded the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal(10LC), Army Commendation Medal (20LC), Army Good Conduct Medal (5) National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/Palm, the following ribbons; Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development, Overseas Service and Saint Barbara Field Artillery Award. He attended Parsons High School, and received his GED in Germany. He attended the Moore Methodist Church, loved going to gospels sings and working with his hands, building bird houses and most anything. Volunteered at the Tucker Co. Animal Shelter and was Treasurer of the Shelter Board. Loved old cars, especially, Chevys, loved to fish and walk in the Woods. Loved the hills of this state. Loved White House Cherry Ice Cream and all our cats, but especially his big boy Mister Puff The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb of Parsons on from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on , 16, 2016 at 11 AM.
